I Can Dream About You

Moving sidewalks
I don't see under my feet
Climbing up from
Down here below where the street sees me lonely for you
I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

Cait punched up the game on her tablet in her hotel room. It had been a long, chilly and sometimes wet day of watching soccer, followed by going to dinner with Connor's teammates and the other parents, and she was ready to curl up and watch the game between the Jazz and the Pelicans.

She'd spoken to Grayson briefly a couple of times, but hadn't said anything about Brennan's discovery. She wanted to have that conversation in person, not over the phone, not even via Face Time.

She'd enjoyed watching Connor play, even if she knew next to nothing about soccer. It didn't take a whole lot of knowledge to recognize that Connor was definitely one of the best players on the team. And she'd enjoyed meeting some of his friends. But before the game started, there was a knock on the door that adjoined Cait's room to that of her father and brother.

"Did I miss the start?" Connor asked quickly, when Cait opened the door.

"Don't you think you should get some rest?" Cait asked with a frown. "You've gotta play at 8:00 a.m. again."

"I'm fine," Connor said absently, looking at his phone. "Do you care if my friend Trent comes over to your room to watch this? Can you put it on a bigger screen?"

Cait sighed. Fortunately, the hotel had smart TVs. She just hadn't been planning to go through the trouble of signing into her NBA League Pass account on the hotel television. "I'll give you the login if you want to figure it out. But I still say you should be resting."

Before Connor could respond, there was a knock at the door and Connor opened it for his friend. Cait rolled her eyes at him.

The game was tight, back and forth throughout the first quarter. Cait could imagine Grayson fighting the urge to clap when Jah scored a bucket.

The Jazz opened up a 15 point lead by halftime, thanks to Ricky and Rudy. But Grayson still hadn't been on the floor. Not that that was unexpected.

During the game, they showed the Jazz's upcoming schedule and Connor suddenly realized that they were playing in Denver the next Saturday evening.  He quickly spun his head to Cait.  "Are you going to Denver for that game?" he asked.

"Not planning on it," Cait told him.  "They have a home game the night before and they'll be coming right back afterward.  I was going to stay in Salt Lake.  I've scheduled a meeting with the kids for my ski program for that day.  Figured I'd take care of it while Grayson was out of town.  He'll probably have Sunday off and I'd like to spend time with him after a week apart."

Connor rolled his eyes.  "Or you could take Trent and me to the game," he suggested.

"It's a long way from New York to Denver," Cait told him.

"Knew you were sharp," Connor snarked.  "But Dad's been talking about going to the ranch next weekend, since I don't have soccer.  I convinced him to let Trent come with us," he gestured to the blonde haired, green-eyed kid that Cait had ascertained was Connor's best friend.  He was a lot quieter than her brother, although they'd been talking some during the game.  "Why don't you come and go to the game?"
