I've got a woman
My life should be easy
Most men hunger
For the life I lead
The morning was grey
But I had the motivation
I drifted away
And ran into more
Heavy weather offshore
There's a storm front coming
——Storm Front, Billy Joel
Cait found herself back at another Stars game. She was surprised when Jae appeared and sat down beside her.
"Mrs. Rook," he smiled. "Fancy meetin' you here."
"It's sweet of you to come watch, Jae," she returned his smile.
"Wasn't busy," he shrugged and settled in to watch.
Grayson hit two threes in the first quarter. But in the second, he got teed up, which had Jae chuckling. But Cait wasn't laughing.
"Hey, it's no big deal," Jae told her.
"It's no big deal if anyone else does it, Jae," Cait sighed. "It's a big deal when he does it. I can only imagine the Twitter storm that will generate."
Jae frowned at that. His frown deepened as he watched Grayson's play following the tech. "He's gotta be more aggressive. He's not hunting his shot."
Cait shook her head. "It's gonna take a few minutes for the tech to get out of his head," she said softly. "Right now, he's worried about the reaction."
Grayson did hit another three in the half, after he air balled one.
"He's gotta stop thinkin' so much," Jae muttered.
"Good luck with that," Cait told him.
"Gonna try," Jae said firmly. And when Grayson was warming up after halftime, Jae walked down to the court. Cait watched him talking at Grayson. She hoped Grayson was listening. And Jae took a seat court-side for the remainder of the game.
At least the Stars had a lead at the half, 48-40. But they blew the lead and then some in the third quarter. And Grayson picked up his fourth foul.
Georges had two techs and was ejected again. At least the Twitter reaction to Grayson's tech wasn't nearly as bad as Cait expected. That was something, she supposed. There actually seemed to be more reaction to their pregame handshake.
Grayson wound up with 14 points and five fouls. He did shoot 50% from three. But the Stars lost 108-102.

Grayson was again recalled by the Jazz, and was back at practice before the game against Miami. And he was actually active for the game.
Cait was going to the game alone. Grayson just had the one home game before he'd be off to Mexico City. Unless he wound up playing for the Stars again the next night, a distinct possibility.
Connor would be arriving soon. Jack had called and said that they were leaving right after school on Friday and would be there Friday evening, he and Joan anxious to get on their way to Kona. That was a day earlier than Cait had planned, but she supposed it didn't make that much difference.
They were flying to Texas on Monday to visit Gillian. Cait had contacted the prison to arrange the visit and was told that they had expanded visiting hours for the holidays and that weekdays were generally much less crowded. And Connor had realized that the Jazz were in Houston on Monday night, so they were planning to go to the game before flying back to Salt Lake City.
