I've been all around the world, done all there is to do
But you'll always be the home I wanna come home to
You're a wild night, with a hell of a view
There ain't no place, ain't no place like you

Cait had planned to spend most of the day working. She settled in to chip away at the mountain of work that was always waiting for her. Especially these days.

She also checked in with her father and Joan to see how Connor was doing. She'd spoken to Connor himself every day, but she wanted to see how he was adjusting to being back with them.

She worried about Connor being shifted around so much.  He seemed to handle it fine, but Cait knew it wasn't ideal.  A kid needed one place that was home.

That wasn't a conversation for over the phone though, and she accepted their assurances that he was fine, but was looking forward to coming to Houston.

Cait also arranged the visit to see Connor's mother on Wednesday.  That gave her some cause for concern, after the way the last visit had gone.  But it had been awhile and Connor had asked to see her, so Cait would take him.

She ordered room service for lunch and kept working.  But around dinner time, she eventually she decided that she should get some exercise and headed to the fitness center, planning to get a long run in. She knew Grayson was busy.  She'd grab some food afterward and have a quiet night.

Grayson had slept in a little.  The team had brunch.  And then film and meetings and walk through.

They obviously needed to make a whole lot of adjustments before Wednesday night.  And that meant a lot of looking at film and delving into the Xs and Os of basketball.

By the time they broke, it was almost dinner time.  And they were eating dinner as a team.  It had been a long afternoon of critiques and criticism and Grayson suspected that everyone probably could have used a break from each other.  But he also figured that this was a foxhole mentality type of situation and they needed to hunker down and focus.

Grayson found himself sitting at dinner with Donovan and Joe. His head was pretty much spinning from all the basketball he'd tried to stuff into it that day.

"Don't overthink it," Joe finally said, seeing the wheels still turning in Grayson's mind. "We need to just play."

Grayson shrugged a little at that. He might or might not have to worry about that, but he was determined to be prepared.

"My brain hurts," Donovan sighed. "I can't think about this any more right now. Maybe when we have an actual practice tomorrow."

"Do we have more film after dinner?" Grayson asked.

"I think Q finally realized that we need a bloody break," Joe sighed. "I'm gonna call home and talk to the twins."

"Me an' Royce are playin' XBox," Donovan offered Grayson, "if you want in. We got two hours to just unwind a little."

But Grayson knew where he'd rather be. "Nah," he shook his head. "Think I'll pass. Imma check in on Cait and see what she's up to."
