Battle Prt. 1

I felt blood pumping in my ears and my palms get sweaty when I saw the crowd of soldiers moving around and shit. There was something not right about this. Something was wrong. I had a bad feeling. They say you can feel death when she's near. And it's not a good feeling. Out stepped Katherine, Alina, Kaleb. My heart stopped and my jaw locked up. I felt everything. Confusion, anger, sadness. I was distraught as my wife, one of my best friends and my brother stood there, with the French. Katherine's eyes landed on mine and burned to my heart.

"Americans perish to the French army!" Was shouted in the crowd.

And suddenly they were running our way, full sprinting. I was still in shock at the fact that my wife was here and....MY KIDS! WHERE ARE MY KIDS?! Is she angry I came here? Is she going to end me? And then it hit me. This isn't Katherine we're talking about. It's Katherine Howard. She's up to something.

We got in position and began shooting into the field, trying our best not to aim at the three idiots who ran with the army. A few bodies dropped but the speed picked up. Gunshots from their end was fired. It rang across the battlefield. I had no time to look behind me to see who dropped. I was trying to make sure my wife stayed running. And just as I thought, the three of them turned around and began shooting in the army, eliminating more people than all of us were. It was chaos. The soldiers were so focused on killing us, they didn't realize that Katherine, Kaleb and Alina were siding with us. We were the targets.

"TEJ! GO TO THE TRUCK! HACK THEIR EARPIECES!" I shouted into my wrist. We all filed to block Tej as he disarmed himself and began making a run to the truck which was a mile away.

My head was spinning as bullets ran through both crowds. I heard yelling in my ear piece but I just wanted to know what the fuck were these three thinking! Alina and Katherine were supposed to be with the kids and Kaleb is a yoga teacher! Why the fuck are they in Europe!

I felt something pierce my side slightly but with all the adrenaline and anger coursing through me, I felt little to nothing. A few minutes later, I heard Katherine's voice.

"WE HAVE TO GET THEM TO THE BUILDING!" Katherine screamed at her brother and Alina.

"How can we do that if we're in a bloody battle?!" Kaleb shouted back.

"Katherine!" I shouted into my wrist piece.

She didn't respond.

"We can only hear, Brian." Tej sighed. "I'm working on it."

Everything was going so wrong so fast and I wanted to drop my gun, grab my wife and let her kick my ass for getting us into this mess. It's always my fault!

"We have to target the commander. If we ice him, the rest will surely run to his rescue and then what?" Alina sounded calm and malicious.

"They'll be in the building and one of us will have to go down to the basement."

"Only one problem..." Kaleb sighed. "Which one."

I heard Kaleb shout into the ear piece and Katherine went silent. I turned my head slightly and saw Kaleb drop to the ground.
