Katherine

Kaleb knocked on my door the next morning.

"Brian told me about what happened." He sighed. "Want to talk about it?"

I am still pissed at Brian.

"I don't know what he wants from me, Kaleb. I practically got on my knees and begged the bastard to forgive me. Yet he constantly throws it in my face." I huffed. "Fucking prick!"

Kaleb sits at the edge of the bed. "Cut the guy some slack. I think he took it the hardest when you bolted. I mean, I was hurt and angry but Brian seemed stuck. I think he was in love with you even before you two got together."

I sit quietly, not wanting to think about Brian because every time I did, I got angry again.

"Brian will get over it in time. You remember that time when I broke your arm, love? You were upset with me for a year yet you still talked and laughed with me. This is the same thing except you moved to London for a year." Kaleb smiled. "Just keep in mind, he's a good guy."

Mother came in with a dozen of roses. "For you, from Brian."

I took them from her hands and chucked them in the garbage.

"She's having an episode." Kaleb told Mother.

"Men. They are idiots." Mother nodded. "But believe me, it's worth it. If the sex is good. If it's not, toss him. I'm making breakfast. Come now, children."

We head downstairs and began eating. I'm part way through my eggs and bacon when there's a knock on the door. Kaleb had a smirk on his face.

"Who is that, brother?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.

"For you." He replied, sipping his Orange juice. He was slurping.

I stood and sighed. I hit his arm for the slurping and walk to the door.

"What?" I spoke to Brian.

"Open up. I have to say something." He replied. "Did you get my roses?"

"The trash loves them." I replied.

"Dude, just open the door." He begged.

I opened it and stood in the doorway. "What?"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for constantly throwing what you did in your face, Katherine. I won't do it again. I promise." Brian said.

I just looked at him. He reached in his pocket and pulled out the charm bracelet my father bought for me. The one I told him about.

"How did-" I am stunned.

"Kaleb." Brian held it out to me.

It's fixed, all of the charms dangling from the hooks. There's a book, a gun, a laptop, a sea horse and a car on it.

"I'm really sorry." Brian stated.

I couldn't help but smile. He placed it on my wrist. "I forgive you."

He kissed me. "I have something else for you."

Once again he reached in his pocket. He pulled out a key.

"Move in with me." He said. "It's been six months and I'm tired of you leaving ever Sunday and every Thursday. I want you all to myself, every day of the week at all hours. I can't get enough of you, Katherine."

"Brian." I am honored.

"Think about it. You and I, cooking together, watching movies together."

"Do it!" Mother called in from behind.

"Thank you, Mrs. Howard!" Brian shouted back.

"If I get angry, I can't leave." I whispered.

"Well then your going to have to face it because that's what relationships do. They build off of love and arguments and some late night-" He paused knowing my Mother was listening. "Just agree. Come on."

"If I say yes, will you shut up?" I asked.

He laughed and hugged me tightly. He kissed me one time and then another. He was beaming with joy.

"Come by later and help me pack." I instructed.

"Will do." He walked to the bottom of the stairs and paused. "I love you."

The first time he said that to me and I wasn't even pretty. But I felt that little tingle in the pit of my stomach again and it grew to my entire body. I smiled and crossed my arms.

"I-I love you too." I whispered.

He smiled wider and nodded and went on his merry way.
