Brian

We arrive back home. There wasn't much said on the ride there. The house is still in a mess from when we were attacked. Katherine ignores all of that and grabs a bottle of Scotch and heads upstairs. We work on cleaning the house up. Afterwards, we let it out.

"She's bad ass." Tej sighed.

"She did good." Letty nodded. "Saw her foot action?"

"Or her aim. Headshots all around." Roman smiled. "I'm starving."

"What else is new?" Tej rolled his eyes.

"She saved us. Despite everything." Kaleb nodded. "Bloody hell."

I was proud of her. I know she hates most of us but she saved us. Katherine is amazing. I head upstairs to see how she's doing. I knock on the door quietly.

"Come in." She hissed.

That made me hesitate. I took a deep breath and walked in, closing the door. She's lounging on her bed, drinking. She's all cleaned up from the blood and is in a clean night gown. Her hair is damp.

"How are you holding up?" I sat at the edge of her bed.

"I'm fine." She nodded. "Just sore."

"On behalf of all of us...thank you." I whispered. "You were amazing today."

She grinned. "Was I really?"

"Hell yeah." I laughed. "Do you need anything?"

She shook her head. I stood.

"Goodnight." I bent down and kissed her forehead.

Just as I was able to walk out, she stopped me.

"Actually." She bit her lip.

I raised my eyebrows.

"Can you please stay with me tonight...no, actually forget I asked." She laid on her bed and turned away from me.

I smiled. Oh, Katherine. I kicked off my shoes and climbed in her bed with her and paused. I wrapped my arm around her and relaxed.

Together we drifted off to sleep. I wake up the next morning before she does. I'm on my back and she's snuggling on my chest. I don't move, fearing I'm going to wake her up. She seems peaceful. I just run my fingers through her hair. She stirs. FUCK!

"You are still here." She whispered.

"I am." I nodded.

She sat up, stretching.

"Where else would I have gone?" I raised my eyebrows.

I looked at her softly and raised my hand to push her hair over her shoulder. She caught my hand.

"So what is.... this?" Katherine cleared her throat.

"It's whatever you want it to be." I replied.

Sha paused. "Brian, if we're going to make this work... You're going to have to use up a lot of your patience."

I laughed. "I'll do whatever it takes."
