His feet slammed on the wet contrete as he ran for his life. His breath was short from running. He hurt all over, for mulitple reasons. Haven't eaten in a few days, being drenched by the thunderstorm that is pouring down, plus him falling down the fire eascape was a few.
What was he running from. Child Services. It was a male in his late thirties maybe, with wide sholders, and a army haircut. He looked like a dude that you would see playing football, not chasing a kid down the street.
Ryan ranted to himself in his head. If he didn't decide that going down the fire escape to find a drier place was a good idea, he wouldn't have slipped and the male wouldn't have seen him.
The signs few by him, unable to read any as he ran past them. How far away was the guy? Did he give up or was he only a few paces behind him. He didn't want to look, so he didn't. He just pushed forward, one foot in front of another. Ingore the people he might bump into. Just keep running.
A hand grabbed his sholder and effectivly stopped him. He jerked back and nearly fell backwards. Before he could regain his wits, he was spun around and slammed into a store wall. What he didn't expect was to see Tori standing there.
The streets were abondoned. 'Weren't they just full?' He thought.
"How could you?" Tori whispered.
"How could I do what?" He asked.
Her clothes changed to a dirtier set. No, they weren't covered in dirt, it was ash.
"Look around you Ryan! You caused this! You and your stupid runes!"
The background change to the school, except it was all burnt down. "Wha? How?" He found himself asking.
Ryan was happy once his alarm clock went off, the dream imprinted into his mind. It was one of his major fears of lately, losing control and destroying the place he cares about. He sighed. It won't happen, he assured himself. I'll be the first fire user to not go crazy and hurt someone.
My presense is basically denying what you just thought!
He ingnored Anti and pushed him to the back of his mind. Anti was the imbodment of his fears, so he could just push past them like normal fears. Except Anti is like the boss of them all. Like a video game.
After delaying getting up for 10 minutes, in which he was having a mental battle with himself, trying to find a reason to get up, he dragged himself out of bed and to his dresser. "I hate school." He groaned out to Mr. Oinkers, who laid asleep on the floor, curled up in a blanket that feel off the bed.
Mr. Oinkers oinked in agreement or disagreement, Ryan wasn't sure. Quickly, he switched into some presentable clothes. Over his shirt went his iconic blue and black hoodie.
He remembered a time when he forgot to wash the stupid thing and had to go to school without it. Almost everyone he saw do a double take. It's a rare sight to see him in a tee shirt. Ask anyone. Tori, Tina, Matt, Goldy, the list goes on. Though it was funny seeing the faces people made.
He looked at the stupid alarm clock. The red numbers read 7:15 A.M. Remembering that he agreed to meet up with the others at 7:30, he knew he didn't need to rush. He had his school stuff in his backpack, by the door, so he didn't forget it.
School wise, he is actually pretty smart, probably past the grade he is in now, just common things he often forgets. School is easy to him, probably the only reason why he past the first year. That ans some help from Unicorn. He's glad other's don't really know how high his IQ is. With his energetic personality most of the time, most people assume that he isn't the smartest. Maybe because he can't concentrate half the time? He's fine with it though, no need to draw more attention to himself.
