"Bury all your secrets in my skin,

come away with innocence and leave me with my sins,"

Duncan smiled faintly to himself as he stroked her hair back from her face. Her eyes were so gorgeous. So full of life. So full of love.

Her dark eyes smiled back at him, melting into his touch, her world was complete. With him here, by her side. Everything was complete.

If only she knew.

"The air around me still feels like a cage,

And love is just a camouflage of what resembles rage,"

"The body was found earlier this morning. A local hiker came across the gruesome site early Thursday morning. After his dog broke free from it's leash. Following the scent of blood. Running down the hiking trail and evidently uncovering the body of 25-year-old Gwendolyn Myers. She had just graduated from art school..."

She sighed. Shaking her head, her light brown hair falling in her face from her messy bun. Her dark eyes looking away from the news broadcast to smile down at her cat as he purred up at her. Rubbing his soft white coat against her tan legs.

"I know Bubba. I miss him too," she said, bending down to gently stroke the feline behind the ears.

She stood back up and looked back at the tv screen, her eyes clinging to the bright yellow police tape.  Watching as the medical team wheeled out the body. Wrapped in a black body bag.

I hope she didn't suffer

Hearing the familiar sound of her lock clicking out of place, Courtney whipped her head around towards her front door and watched as it opened. Her eyes darting back and forth between the TV and the door. Watching as the gold handle turned.

She would be lying if she didn't tense up. Knowing such a horrible act had just happened in her town within the last few hours made her on edge. Even though she was 99% sure she knew who was coming through her door.

Her shoulders only eased when she saw his familiar blue eyes.

"Duncan.." she breathed out, listening to her heart in her ears.

Thump, thump, thump

"Gosh you scared me," she whispered, lifting her hand up to her chest. She felt her pulse though the barracks of her ribs. Beating against the thickness of her robe.

"Sorry gorgeous. I didn't mean to scare you," he said gently, kicking the door closed with the heel of his foot. He was carrying two large grocery bags in his hands. Balancing himself with the weight as he walked over and kissed her forehead "I knew we were running low of some stuff so I figured I would stop by the store after work," he murmured against her skin.

She smiled gently, closing her dark eyes and relaxing into him. Everything about him was so familiar. His scent. His facial hair scraping gently against her skin. His eyes. His presence.

"You're too good to me," she whispered as she wrapped her hands around his waist. Duncan smirked as he set the bags down and hugged her close.

"No.." he whispered, his eyes going dark before closing and melting into her touch as well "I'm really not,"

She rolled her eyes and pulled away to help him unload the groceries into the frige, pantry and counter.

She watched his movements out of the corner of her eye. She watched as he seemed to finally focus on the TV, stiffening as he watched the news story play out. She swallowed hard, shaking her head "It's awful, isn't it? She was so young. Only a year younger than me. She had just finished school. I had seen her around town before  but never spoke to her. Horrible to think her life was ended so violently,"
