Chapter 39

I had so much fun this night! Esther and i went to the beach and we had ice cream! We just talked and looked at the sunset. We talked about everything! She told me that she's liking this guy but she doesn't think he likes her back, I gave her some advice, yeah i know i never had a boyfriend so giving advice is not really what i should be doing. She asked why Corbs and i lived alone, I just said something bout wanting to go to school here. I think she believed that so that's good. I just dropped Esther off at her house, I'm now driving back to my lil apartment. Jonah is still there cause he wasn't at home, according to Esther he likes me and Corbs! So that's good right? I connect my phone to the bluetooth of the car and i start blasting NF. I love his songs, he just talks the truth and i can kinda relate with him.

When i pull up to the parking lot of our small apartment i see that the lights are still on, I smile. I hope Corbs had a good time! I know that it was hard for him to make the decision to cut off all his hair... I get out of my car and i feel the hot breeze hit my face. It's now august so it's extremely hot the whole time. I walk up the stairs and i unlock the door, I see Jonah, Jack and Corbs sitting around the table just talking and laughing. They all look up to me when i close the door, "Hey ellie!" Corbs says while he smiles at me, "Hi" I say and i also smile. I look at the clock in the kitchen and i see it's midnight right now. "Where's Esther?" Jonah asks while he slowly gets up from his chair, "Oh i brought her home!" I say and Jonah smiles at me, "Thanks Elle" he says and i smile back at him, "Soo what did you guys do the whole night?" I ask while i walk up to the table, I rub Corbs his bald head and they all laugh. "We just talked" Jack says when he smiles, "But i think i gotta go, my mom is here any moment" Jack says while he gets up from his chair. Jonah and i immediately grab him by his arms, "Guys guys easy i can walk" Jack says laughing. Me and jonah laugh and look at each other, "We're both used to it aren't we" Jonah says and i just nod. We slowly let go of jack and he grabs his own walking stick and he walks to the door, "I had a lot of fun guys! We should meet up soon!" he says when he opens the door, "Yeah we should!" Jonah says and Corbs nods, "Yeah!". I am glad Corbs made some friends. Corbs also gets up and Jonah and i again grab him by his shoulders at the same time. "can you guys help me to bed?" Corbs asks and Jonah and i both nod. We slowly walk to his room with him, we help him in the bed and we tuck him in. "goodnight jo and Ellie" he says and then he closes his eyes. I smile, "goodnight Corbs" I say and me and Jonah leave the room. I sit down at the kitchen table, "Hey you okey?" Jonah asks while he sits down next to me. "Oh yeah yeah i am fine" I say and i fake a smile, to be honest i am not. I am worrying bout the bills so much! They just keep piling up and i don't have the money to pay them all... "You sure?" Jonah asks again and he lays his hand on my arm, he smiles at me. "I am sure, thanks for asking" I say and this time my smile is real. "good" Jonah says and he gets up from his chair. "I think that it's time for me to go too" he says and i nod. I also get up from the chair and i walk to the door with him, "You're free tomorrow right?" he asks and i nod, "Yup, you?" I ask while i open the door. "Yeah same" he says while he smiles at me, "Maybe we could go for a walk at the beach?" he asks. I smile, "yeah we could" I say, I see that jonah's smile gets bigger. "I pick you up at 5pm!" he says and he leaves the apartment. "See you tomorrow!" I say, "Till tomorrow Elle" Jonah says and he walks down the stairs. I close the door behind me, i am still smiling, I don't know why i am smiling and why i am feeling this way. He's just a friend. Yeah yeah he's just a friend!
