'Ajit? Tum yahan?'

'Bhai, kuch baat karni thi..'

Rohit looked at him. Ajit looked a bit nervous.

'Kya baat hai jo ghar pe nahin ho sakti thi?'

'Woh..wahan sab..'

Rohit raised an eyebrow.

'Aisa kuch jo ghar walon se chupaana chahte ho?'

'Chupaana to nahin..bas abhi theek time nahin laga batane ke liye..'

Rohit threw his bagpack on the bed, and sat down, inviting him to do the same. But Ajit declined and kept standing. Rohit shrugged.

'Bolo..'

Ajit began to pace in the small room. He took a couple of laps and then stopped.

'I love Pari Rastogi!'

Rohit showed no reaction.

'Aap...aap ko kya problem hai uss se? She's a wonderful girl, Bhabi ki behen hai, aap ko bhi to pasand hai na..'

'Pari se koi problem nahin hai..problem iss baat se hai!'

Ajit blinked.

'Matlab? Kya?'

'Tujhe nahin pata?'

'Aakhir kya problem hai? Wahi to pooch raha hun na. I thought you didn't approve of the idea of Pari and me together..since she's your saali..'

'It's because she's my saali, that I don't approve..'

Ajit stopped pacing.

'Matlab?'

He looked genuinely puzzled.

Rohit was surprised that Sonakshi hadn't told Ajit or Pari his reasons.

'Tujhe sach mein nahin pata?'

'Is it not because you don't like the idea of Pari and me together? Pari ne to bola..' his voice trailed off as he saw Rohit shaking his head in something like disbelief.

'It's not Pari I have a problem with..'

Ajit was frowning, but he suddenly straightened up, his brow clearing.

'You mean to say..me? You have a problem with me?' He asked incredulously.

'Yes, you!'

'Magar kyun? Mein to aap ka apna bhai hun..'

'Woh to tu hai! Magar mujhe nahin lagta ke tu Pari ke liye theek hai.'

'But why? I love her..'

'Like you loved Payal?'

The penny dropped. Ajit looked absolutely shocked.

'What?!?'

Rohit crossed his arms in front of his chest.

'Remember Payal, your girlfriend in college? The one who nearly died because of you?'

Ajit staggered, unable to believe what his brother was saying.

'Aap..aap..uss ki wajah se..'

Rohit got up, running a hand through his hair.

'Han! Ussi ki wajah se! Aaj mein tujh pe itna trust nahin kar sakta ke tu Pari ke saath wahi sab nahin karega!'

Ajit shook his head in disbelief, looking absolutely dumbfounded.

'What? Nothing to say? Cat got your tongue?'
