They all stood frozen to the spot.

'Sona! Pari!'
Anil's voice grew louder.

Sonakshi moved first.

'Kahan ja rahi ho?'

Rohit stopped her.

'Ab kuch nahin hosakta..darwaza kholna parega.'

'Shit! Aaj to bura phasay!'
Ajit looked nervous.

'Sab teri ghalti hai!'
Rohit glared at him.

There was a loud knock on the door again.

'Stop fighting! Kaam aisa kiya hai..ab bhugto..'

Sonakshi moved towards the door again.
Pari hid behind Ajit, looking nervous.

Rohit stopped her again, by putting a hand on her shoulder.

'Sona! Kuch karo na..bacha lo..Ajit ka socho..please..'
He pleaded with his eyes.

Sonakshi looked at Ajit, who was shuffling from one foot to the other, looking anxious.

'Okay, fine!'

'Thankyou!'
Rohit released his breath in relief.

'Jao! Jaldi se dono bathroom mein chup jao!'

'What? Bathroom mein?'
Ajit looked shocked.

Rohit turned to glare at him.

'You have a better idea?'
Ajit shook his head.
'Then listen to the woman! Move your ass!'

They both hurried to the bathroom, shutting the door.

Pari looked scared.

'Di! Kya hoga?'

'Stop looking like this! Pakka pata chal jayega! Look a bit sleepy..as if we don't know anything.'

Pari looked at Sonakshi, incredulously.

'Actor ke saath rehte rehte, aap poori heroine ban gayi ho!'

'Shut up!'

Sonakshi ruffled her hair, trying to make it look messy, while Pari giggled.
Sonakshi turned to her, giving her a death glare. Pari immediately shut up, and messed up her hair.

She quickly walked to the door, where the knocking continued. Sonakshi took a deep breath.
Opening the door, she looked at her father, as if surprised he was standing there.

'Papa! Kya hua? Sab theek to hai?'

Anil and Suman both came inside, with the watchman in tow. They looked around in the room, as if expecting to see something more. They looked at each other.
Sonakshi turned on the main lights.

'Sona! Kya ho raha hai?'
Suman stood looking at her.

'Kya ho raha hai? So rahe hain, or kya?'
Sonakshi tried to sound puzzled.

'Yahan koi aaya hai?'

'Kahan? Kya bol rahi hain, Ma?'

'Awaazen arahi thi yahan se..koi aaya to nahin?'

'Aray! Yahan koi kaise aayega? Mein or Pari aaj ek saath so rahe thay, socha ek hi din bacha hai..' she tried to sound emotional.

'Han, han, woh to theek hai! Shaamlal! Ainda se dihaan rakhna..'
Suman scolded him.

Shaamlal looked the most puzzled. He scratched his head, trying to peer behind the sofa, and the terrace door.

'Kya dekh rahe ho? Neend mein kuch bhi bolte ho tum..yahan koi nahin hai. Bacchiyan bhi so rahi thi..un ko bhi utha diya..'
Anil said sternly.
