'Sonakshi! I'm sorry! Please bahar aao! Sonakshi!'

The knock on the door, folowed by Rohit's voice, startled her out of her reverie.

Wiping her tears, she got up from the floor.
Washing her face, she quickly changed her clothes.

Time to face the music...

Rohit was going out of his mind with worry.

How will I ever excuse my behaviour? She must be freaking mad at me..
Jawab maangte maangte, khud hi sawaal khara kar diya...

The bathroom door opened.

Preparing himself for the worst and hoping for the best, he turned.

Sonakshi came out in one of her signature tees, this time announcing 'HANDS OFF!'

He rolled his eyes.

'Sonakshi..I..'

She looked at him. Her eyes were red.

'I'M SORRY!'

They both said in unison.

Rohit was surprised.

'Why are you apologising?'

'I hit you..and I'm sorry!'

'But..'

'Rohit..I'm really tired..mein sona chahti hun..' she moved towards the bed.

'I'm sorry Sonakshi..I over stepped the line..I..'

'Ok fine!'

He was stunned.

'Matlab? Tumne meri behaviour ke liye mujhe maaf kiya?'

'Abhi to bola! Ab postmortem karna hai kya? I slapped you, you would never have hit me back, so what you did was in anger. I understand.'

Rohit was astounded by her reaction.

'Ab mein so jaun? Bohot neend arahi hai.'

With that she laid down, turning her back to him and switched off her bedside lamp.

Rohit was dumbfounded.

Of all the things, this was one reaction he never would have thought of.

Running a hand through his hair, he went to the bathroom.

Sonakshi saw him go. A tear rolled out of her eye.

I'm sorry Rohit! Lekin mujhe thora waqt chahiye..to sort things..in my head..please be patient??

In the following weeks, Sonakshi's behaviour surprised him.

Rohit had thought she would avoid him, ignore him, be angry with him.

He didn't expect her to be..so normal.

Yes, she was a bit quiet with him, but with the others..she was totally normal.

One day, he came back early to find her packing an overnight bag, again.

She looked up as he came in the room.

'Rohit! Is se pehle ke tum kuch or samjho, mein contract beech mein chorr ke nahin ja rahi..'

Rohit was stunned. He had actually thought that in the first instance.

'Zaroori kaam se Kolkata ja rahi hun. I should be back by tomorrow.'

'Oh okay.'

She closed the bags' zipper and stood up.
