Chapter 27

Rohit couldn't believe he had lied so he could stay away from Sonakshi.

He went to his studio and spent the night in his dressing room.

I'm just her friend. She doesn't love me.
Uss ke saath reh ke to I will just get deeper into this.
I'm sorry Sonakshi.. I need some time to accept this..thora waqt lagega but I'll do it..I'm Rohit Sippy, the actor..I can do it.

For the next few days, Sonakshi was too busy herself, her schedule having logged up due to her absence.

Rohit faced the same thing and they hardly met at all.

She messaged him in between surgeries and even clinics, but he didn't reply or when he did he would tell her he was busy.

Rohit breathed a sigh of relief while Sonakshi wished it was otherwise.

She missed the easy banter they had shared in Goa..she missed him.

Even though they were busy, Sonakshi could feel Rohit was avoiding her.

If they met at dinner with everyone, he behaved like a doting husband.

Then when she would think that things will get better, he would disappear. He would stay downstairs with his brothers or father till Sonakshi slept, or went out after dinner to meet friends.

Sonakshi noticed everything.

I was right!
He was attracted to me, but just wants to stay friends.

I wanted to show him that he means more to me than a friend..but how? If he won't let me near him, neither to talk or listen to me..

An idea had been brewing in her mind.

She decided to implement it.

Avoiding Sonakshi was the hardest thing he had had to do.

Being in the same room with her, in the same bed..

He usually came in the room when she was asleep to avoid her questions.

And he knew she had many. He had seen them in her eyes.

It hurts Sonakshi..it really hurts.

A week or so later, Rohit came home in time for dinner.

There seemed to be a lot of activity in the kitchen. Thinking nothing of it, he went up to shower and change.

When he came down, everyone was in the lounge, chatting amongst themselves.

'Chalo chalo, khaane ke liye ajao sab..' Veena called everyone.

Rohit was surprised to see pasta, one of his most favourite things and there was also pizza.

'Wow! Italian khana ghar pe? Chachu aap ne banaya?' Rohit said excitedly.

'Mein pure Sindhi hun. I only cook Sindhi..' Akaash laughed at him.

'To phir Mom?'

'Nahin..kha ke batao..'

Rohit tasted the pasta.

'Wow! Bohot mazay ka hai! Ab to batao kisne banaya!' as he ate another mouthful.

'Maine banaya.'

Sonakshi came out of the kitchen, looking so cute in an apron and chef's hat.

His fork stopped mid air.
