Chapter 63

Sonakshi was dazzled.

Nestled on black velvet was the most exquisite diamond ring she had seen.

'Oh my God! It's gorgeous!'

'Not as much as you..'

Sonakshi lifted out the solitaire and gave it to Rohit.

She brought her left hand up and Rohit put it on her ring finger.

It sparkled in the lights.

'Or yeh aap ne kab li?'

'Aaj hi, after you came back to the room and I was finalising our plans for tomorrow.'

'I'd be afraid of losing it Rohit!'

'Tumhari finger mein safe hai..'

He kissed her hand.

Sonakshi looked at his bent head and smiled.

'You look so good yourself.'

He was dressed in chinos, a blue shirt and a blazer.

'Hmm..saari larkiyan aise hi bolti hain..'

Sonakshi gave him a look.

He laughed.

'Chalo..chalen..'

Sonakshi and Rohit crossed the river on the riverboat to reach the restaurant named Sala Rim Naam.

The restaurant was famous for its' food and the dance show.

As Sonakshi and Rohit were seated near the stage, musicians in pink uniforms arrived on the stage, playing traditional Thai instruments.

Throughout the evening, dancers came onstage, from women in colourful dresses carrying candles, to masked 'warriors', all performing styles from across Thailand.

Two young women recognised Rohit and came to their table, excitement on their faces.

'Selfie please?'

Rohit looked at Sonakshi. She smiled at him and nodded.

The women were practically squealing by the time they went back to their tables.

'Sona, you don't mind na?'

'Aray! Mein mind kyun karungi? You are immensely popular..and I couldn't be more proud. Or mujhse poochne ki bhi zaroorat nahin hai..at the end of the day, I know you are mine.'

Rohit squeezed her hand. She returned the favour, glancing at the silver band he wore, just for her.

'Thankyou for that!'

They had a delicious dinner, consisting of spicy prawn soup with lemongrass, followed by a sea bass fillet with Thai herbs, a yellow curry with fish and potato, large stir-fried river prawns and a bowl of rice. This was followed by an amazing coconut icecream for dessert with caramelised bananas.

'This was too good!'

Sonakshi finished the ice cream.

Rohit watched her eat. She noticed.

'Kya hua?'

'It's nice to see you enjoying your food.'

'Hmm..I just love sweets..'

'I'll remember that next time.'

They left the restaurant to stroll for a while outside. There was seating outside,  with a view of the river.

They finally went back to their hotel, as they had an early start and had yet to pack.
