Chapter 121

Sonakshi was surprised as the lights turned on.

'What is this?'

The room was full of red heart-shaped balloons scattered on the floor. The rooms' small dining table had been set up with candles and was ready for dinner. There were also bouquets of red roses, her favourite, on the dresser and bedside tables.

Rohit stood behind her as she took in all of this. Sonakshi couldn't believe it. She almost turned to him in excitement, when she remembered everything.

'Why have you done this? Hum yahan kyun aaye hain?'

She finally turned to face him.

'Sona, woh kal..'

'Wah! Pehle dil dukhao, phir yeh sab kar ke manao!'

'Nahin, woh mein..'

'Tumhe kya lagta hai? Yeh sab karo ge or mein sab bhool jaungi?'

'I know maine..woh..'

'Yeh acha hai! Waise to har baat bina sochay hi bol dete ho..aaj kya hogaya Mr. Sippy? Mun mein dahi jam gayi hai?'

He ran a hand through his hair, as if nothing was going according to his plan.

'Mein..I was annoyed, and I just said all that. I know mujhe nahin kehna chahiye tha..'

Sonakshi stepped closer.

'You do, do you?'
Her tone and stance was full of anger.

'Han, mein..'

'What a great actor you are! Wow!! Slow claps for you!' And she clapped her hands slowly, sarcastically.

'Sona, meri baat to..'

She advanced forwards, her eyes blazing.
Rohit moved backwards, till his back touched the wall.

'Tum khud ko samajhte kya ho? Mein..'

'Tumhara husband..'

Sonakshi stopped and glared at him.

'I'm still talking, Rohit! Mein maanti hun ke maine jo kiya woh thora zyada hogaya tha. Uss waqt mein ghussa thi tum pe. But tum mujhse baat hi nahin kar rahe thay, to mujhe laga shayad bura lag gaya, thora zyada. Then you were so normal, I thought baat khatam.'

'Magar mein to..'

'Acting kar raha tha! Hai na? Ooper se mujhse bolte ho..mujhse, apni biwi se, se ke it was all an act! Sab kuch naatak tha!' Her voice had risen.

'Maine ghussay mein bol diya bas..'

'Ghussay mein aksar insaan sach hi bol deta hai..right?'

'Yes, I mean no! Like generally yes, but mere liye no..' he tried explaining, but realised how it was all sounding.

'Mere saath tum acting karte ho?'

Sonakshi's voice lowered.
He was stupefied.

'Wha..'

'I said, mere saath acting karte ho? Hamare beech jo kuch hota hai, is that an act? Wow! Super awesome!'

'Stop putting words in my mouth! Aisa kuch nahin hai..'

Sonakshi came closer, with just inches separating them.

'Yeh aankhen, yeh jhoot bolti hain?'

'What! No way!'

'Tumhari baaten! Meri tareef karna, mere paas bahane bahane se aana..all an act?'

'Kya bolay ja rahi ho?'
