Chapter 7

Rohit was a good actor, and that worked for him. Particularly today, otherwise, his colleagues would have found out what a sham he was.

Sonakshi Rastogi.

She was on his mind, ever  since he had left her office, or precisely, been asked to leave.
It was confirmed that there was something in her past which troubled her, evident by her actions. All he had done was try to get her to react, and boy, had she reacted.

He couldn't decide if he had done the right thing by testing her or something wrong by upsetting her.

All he knew right now, was that something was pulling him towards her, and he intended to find out what it was.

For the first time ever, Dr. Sonakshi Rastogi's hands trembled during a surgery. She had to finally ask her assistant to close the abdominal wound..

Rohit Sippy.

Why had she reacted to his ramblings? He was just a non-serious flirt, playing with her, because she wasn't giving him the attention he wanted.

She shouldn't have reacted. But he was getting too personal. But then, many people had tried the same, and she had never overreacted.

Why was she letting him bother her..take over her thoughts like this. All she knew was she never wanted to see him again, if it was too soon.

A week later...

'Sona? Sona?'

Sonakshi woke up from the knocking on her door. She looked around, disoriented, before realising Suman was calling her through the door.

'Coming!'

She quickly got up and opened the door. Suman entered her room.

'Tumhari tabyat to theek hai?' she put a hand on Sonakshi's forehead to check for fever.

'I'm fine Ma!'

'To aaj soti reh gayin? Tum to hamesha apne alarm se pehle uth jaati ho..'

'Bas, raat mein neend der se aayi..iss liye..koi kaam tha?'

How could she tell her mother ke kisi ki aankhon ne neend urra di thi? She brushed aside the thought.

'Han! Aaj mein tumhari koi baat nahin sunungi. Mrs. Sharma hain na, Papa ki friend, woh parson kisi ko le kar arahi hain tum se milwane..tayaar rehna..'

'Ma! Yeh kya hai? Subah subah?' Sonakshi got upset.

'Iss liye bata rahi hun ke tum apna schedule line up kar do. Or hospital nahin jaana aaj?'

'Ofcourse jaana hai!'

'To ajao jaldi se..Pulkit bhi night shift se aata hi hoga!'

Sonakshi ran a hand through her open hair, and sighed.

Parson ke is 'show and tell' se kaise bacha jaye?

Rohit had an outdoor shoot today, so had to go a bit late.

He had given Sonakshi a whole week to cool down. He had stopped himself several times from going to meet her. He had her cell number, but he wanted to be able to see her expressions when he spoke to her.
Why did it matter so much to him?
It's not like she was the first female to reject his attention, and he had several friends who were girls. His co-stars, his friends, all knew he was like that. He meant no harm and had never tried to hurt anyone intentionally.
