Chapter 135

Something woke up Sonakshi.
She had been having weird dreams about Rohit being angry and leaving her for good.
She woke up sweating. Pushing the duvet off, she was surprised when she felt a cool breeze in the room. She looked up to see the curtain billowing at the terrace window.

I don't remember leaving that open..maybe it opened with the wind..

She got up to close the door, but was stunned as her eyes saw movement.

Rohit!!

He was standing looking at nothing.

Without any second thoughts, she went up behind him and hugged him.

She felt him stiffen for a second, before he relaxed.

'Sona?'

'Rohit! I'm sorry! I know maine ghalti ki hai, lekin itni bari to nahin ke aisi saza do..'

He closed his eyes, heavenwards.

Rohit removed her arms from around his waist and turned around to face her.

They were both surprised to see tears in the others'.

'Tum..gayin nahin..' he began.

'Kahan jaana tha? Mera sab kuch to yahin hai na!'

She heard him gasp.

'Rohit! I know I should have told you, but..unhe ek moqa chahiye tha..to see if this will work or not! I..I just gave them that..I didn't betray you..I didn't...I can't..' her voice broke.

She looked up at him, regret in her gaze. He kept looking at her, then turned around to face the balustrade.

'Kuch bolo ge nahin?'

He closed his eyes again.

'Tum to ghussay mein thi..phir yeh sab..'

'Ghussay mein to tum bhi thay..kitna kuch kaha..'

He ran a hand through his hair.

'Rohit..'

'Kya bolun?'

'Yehi, ke tum ne mujhe maaf kiya..or yeh stupid si break lene ki baaten kabhi nahin karo ge..'

'I realise I was a bit harsh..'

'A bit? You told me to go away..that you needed space..alone time..'

'Yeh sab mein tumhe..I just needed..'

'Kya chahte ho tum? Do you really want me to leave you alone? Just like last time?'

'No..' he whispered, but she heard it.

She turned him around by his arm.

'To aisi baaten karte kyun ho? Kya mein nahin jaanti ke tum khud ko bhi hurt karte ho?'

'Han! Mein hurt hua! Mujhe takleef hui. Maine tumhe apne saare apprehensions bataye, expecting you, of all people, to understand.'

'I did, I swear..'

'Aisa mujhe laga nahin..'

'That's because you didn't want to know. Tumne to bas ghalat maana or saza suna di..'

'Or kya karta? Mein jis se sab se zyada mohabbat karta hun iss duniya mein, agar woh hi mujhe nahin samjhegi..to mein kisi or se kya expect karun?'

Sonakshi blinked.

'Mein samajhti hun tumhe, tumhari feelings ko bhi..but you have to believe me, that the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you..'

'But hurt I did get! Woh sab dekh ke..'
