Sonakshi was a tad nervous as she followed Rohit's car.
She still couldn't get over how Rohit had won her family over. They had accepted him with open arms. No questions asked. Maybe if she hadn't decided for the contract marriage..
No use thinking of that now..

Traffic was already heavy for this time of the day, as they reached Goregaon.

Sonakshi did not know what she had expected, but Rohit's house was near the sea face, set in a nice locality.
She sat in the car, after parking, looking around. He knocked on her window. She opened the door.

'Kya hua? Chalen?'

'Yeah!' she got off and followed him.

He rang the bell, and a young girl opened the door.

'Hey Rohit! Jaldi pack up hogaya kya?'

'Hi Pooji! Tu yahan?'

'Han! Mami ke haath ka nashta karne aayi thi..tum..'

She stopped when she saw a woman enter with him.

'Come...'

He gestured for her to come in. Sonakshi entered a spacious hall.
Pooja elbowed Rohit.

'Who's she?' she whispered.

'Wait..! Baqi sab kahan hain?'

'Mami, Mamu kitchen mein, baqi sab dining table pe..'

He nodded.

'Please sit! I'll just come..'

She nodded and sat on a sofa, her eyes running around, taking in the surroundings.

Rohit moved towards the kitchen. Pooja quickly hurried after him.

'Rohit! Batao na..kon hai?'

'Mom, Papa?' he called.

'Aray Rohit! Tu wapas kaise agaya? Everything okay?' Veena came forward.

'Yes..woh mein..'

'Aaja! Tumhare Papa aaj dhokla bana rahe hain.'

'Mom, baat to sunain..'

Veena, with a plate in hand, moved to the dining area, where the rest of the family had started eating.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw movement. A beautiful woman was sitting in the lounge. Putting the plate on the table, she moved across the hall. Rohit quickly followed her.

'Hello ji.. Aap?' Veena inquired.

'Namaste! Dr. Sonakshi Rastogi..'

'Mom yeh..'

'Rohit, tere saath aayi? Ohh..!!' something  registered..'yeh wahi doctor hai na jis ne tumhari treatment ki thi? Jab tere chott lagi thi? I remember reading the name..'

Sonakshi was standing up now. She glanced at Rohit. He was standing behind the woman.

'Sonakshi..yeh meri mom..'

'Oh..namaste aunty!'

'Namaste..betho..' her gaze was curious. She noticed her son exchange looks with her.

'Rohit? Tu theek hai na? Matlab doctor ghar pe..'

'Mom! I have to tell you something. Thora araam se sun na..'

'Kya baat hai? Zaroor tu kuch chupa raha hai..kya hua hai tujhe?' Veena's voice had risen.

'Relax Mom! Kuch hua nahin hai..'

'Dr. Rastogi, aap hi bata den. Is there something wrong with him?'

'Aisa kuch bhi nahin hai..'

Sonakshi tried telling her.
