Sonakshi looked at Rohit. He put the phone on speaker.

'Tum kahan ho Rohit?' his Mom's voice was loud in her office.

'Mom..aap? Mein to..'

'Shoot pe ho? Busy?'

'No..aap bolain..'

'Or woh kahan hai? Uss ke saath ho?' her tone was terse.

'Her name is Sonakshi! Or aap ne hi to bola..jao..ghar mat aao..'

Sonakshi shook her head at him.

'Han..bola tha..to kahan gaye? Uss ke ghar?' her tone was a bit sarcastic.

'No Mom! Aap baat karne ke liye ready hain? Din mein to kamray mein band hogayi thi..'

'What?!?' Sonakshi mouthed.

'Ghar aao..baat karni hai!'

'Aata hun..magar akele nahin!' he was firm.

'Fine!'

His mother cut the call.

He looked at Sonakshi. She was standing now.

'Rohit! She locked herself in her room? I think you should go alone..she..'

'Jaunga..lekin akele nahin..or pehle dinner to finish karo..'

'What? Wahan tumhari mom naraaz hain or tumhe khaane ki parri hai?'

He resumed eating.

'Woh kya hai na, mujhse khali pait larai nahin hoti..'

'Really? I'll remember that the next time!' she chuckled.

He stopped to stare.

'Kya?'

'You should smile more often, it looks so good on you!'

You blushed. You actually blushed. He was stunned.

He realised he had spoken aloud.

'Kya bol rahe ho?'

'The great Dr. Rastogi is human after all.'

She stiffened.

'Unfortunately!' her tone was sarcastic.

'Matlab?'

'Are you done eating? Let's go then..' her voice turned harsh.

He gave her a look as she turned away. This. He vowed to find out what this was all about.

It was almost 11 pm when they reached the Sippy House.
Rohit was surprised to see the house lit up still, meaning everyone was awake.

At the door, Rohit took Sonakshi's hand in his.

'Is ki koi zaroorat nahin hai.' she spoke quickly, trying to get him to let go.

'Bohot zyada zaroorat hai..' he looked at her.

They were both looking in each others eyes, when the door opened.

'Ahem! Ahem!'

They broke eye contact to look towards the speaker.

'Nishi Boo! Aap? Iss waqt yahan?'

'To jab aisi breaking news milegi to aaun bhi na?'

'Sonakshi, yeh meri bua hain, Pooja ki mom.'

'Namaste!'

She tried freeing her hand from Rohit's but he held tightly.

They both saw that the whole family had collected in the lounge.
