Naren and Veena looked at him as if he had grown horns on his head.

'Shadi? Pagal hogaye ho kya Rohit?'
Naren asked.

'Sonakshi teri biwi hai or tujhe shadi karni hai..'

'Wahi to Mom! Mujhe Sonakshi se shaadi karni hai!'

Naren and Veena looked at each other and back at him.

'Veena, tumhara beta satya gaya hai!'

Rohit came and sat on the floor at Veena's feet. He took her hands in his.

'Mom! Mujhe rasm o rivaaj ke saath Sonakshi se shadi karni hai!'

'Matlab? Dhoom dhaam wali? Or yeh sab tujhe ab khayal araha hai? Jab saal honay wala hai?'

Tab hi to..

'Han to yeh samjho ke saal honay pe hum promises dobara lena chahte hain..aap log meri madad karoge? Rishta le ke jaoge uss ke ghar?'

Naren clapped his hands.

'Wah! Yeh diya na mera beta honay ka suboot! Kyun Veena? Tumhi ne to kaha tha ke Rohit ki shadi pe tum apne armaan poore nahin kar payin? Ab moqa mil raha hai..'

'Yeh acha hai..satya gaya to mera beta, kaam ki baat karay to tumhara beta?'

But Veena was now also grinning from ear to ear.

'Bara maza ayega..'

Rohit saw their excitement and smiled.

They loved Sonakshi like he did.

'To aap log jayenge na rishta le ke?'

'Bilkul!'

'Bas ek baat! Sonakshi ke liye abhi surprise hai!'

'Ohhh! I'm loving it!'
Veena clapped in glee.

Rohit hugged them both and after discussing the where and how, he left them talking amongst themselves.

He ran back up the stairs to his room.

He knew he hadn't spoken to Sonakshi yet, but he wasn't taking chances this time.

'Dekhti jao Dr. Sonakshi Rastogi! Tumhara Rohit Sippy araha hai!!'

He smiled through his tears.

Sonakshi's mood was really sour.
She had spent the whole night awake, crying in her room.

I miss you like crazy Rohit!
Abhi to poori zindagi bitaani hai tumhare bagher..

The Rastogis had been a bit surprised at her arrival but she had convinced them that she had been missing them and hence had come to stay.

As she reached the hospital, the staff cleared away, gauging her mood.

'Morning meeting! Right now!' she went to her cabin.

Tulsi and the others hurriedly gathered everyone.

She was in the middle of some discussion with the doctors, when her door burst open.

She was stunned if not more.

'Rohit!' she whispered.

Rohit had spent a restless night, wanting to talk to Sonakshi.

As soon as morning arrived, he had dressed and left.

He knew she would have reached the hospital. No matter what her state of mind was, she would never let her patients or staff down.
