Chapter 5

'Di!' Pari spoke next to her, through clenched teeth.
'Kya kar rahi ho? Yeh aap ka hospital thori hai..that's just fake blood.'

Rohit was shocked.

She was here.

Their eyes met across the room. She stood frozen to the spot. He saw her discomfort. He quickly came forward.

'Sameer sir! Chota sa break lete hain?'

'Sure Rohit! Guys, half hour break!'

People dispersed, whispering amongst themselves.
Rohit moved towards her.

She saw him coming. She suddenly turned and fled.

Rohit stopped, stunned.

'Di!' Pulkit spoke. He turned to Rohit.

'Really sorry! I'll go..'

Pari was just staring at Rohit with a dreamy look in her eyes.

'Pari! Pari!! Chalo..' he gave her a small shove.

'Hunh? Yeah..okay!'

She turned to follow Pulkit. They went outside. Sonakshi wasn't there. They went in search, Rohit now following them.

He saw her before they did.

She was standing by a car in the parking lot. Her siblings reached her first.

'I told you this was a bad idea..'

She stopped as she saw Rohit. Pari and Pulkit turned to see the reason she had stopped speaking.

'Dr. Rastogi! I had never thought ke aap yahan..woh..'

'Zain! Rohit Sippy!' Pari was too excited.

Rohit turned towards her and smiled.

'You must be Pari..as beautiful as the name suggests..'

'Wow! I can't believe I'm talking to you..'

'Aap believe kar bhi lengi..lekin mein believe nahin kar pa raha ke Dr. Sonakshi Rastogi is here..on my drama set.'

He moved a bit closer. She had a closed look on her face.

'Ab kon kis ka kaam disturb kar raha hai? Waise hisab barabar..' he winked at her.

Instead of lightening up, she stiffened more. Rohit was puzzled by her reaction.

'Pulkit, Pari! Let's go! Sorry Mr. Sippy for the 'disturbance'! Bye!'

She sat in the car, while Pulkit came round to the drivers seat. Pari waved him a bye and they left, leaving Rohit disturbed.

Sonakshi was quiet all the way home, inspite of Pulkit and Pari's endless chatter to cheer her up.

On reaching home, Anil and Suman called them over in the lounge.

'Sona! Kaisa raha ek TV show ke set pe jaana? Maza aaya?' her father called out.

Pari was still excited on meeting Rohit.

'Papa! Pata hai kya hua? Woh..'

'Pari! Not now!' Pulkit signaled her to stay quiet. She looked at Sonakshi's face and nodded.

'Sona, aao tum se ek zaroori baat karni thi..' called her mom.

'Ma! Papa! Di ka mood thora kharab hai..' Pulkit told them.

Sonakshi moved forward to leave, but Suman had gotten up. She came towards her.

'Suno to..meri baat se mood change hojayega..aao..'
She took Sonakshi by the hand and sat her down on a sofa.
