'Rohit! Mein theek hun! Relax!'

Rohit looked at Sonakshi and made to move towards her.

He winced as pain shot through his left side.

'What the..'

Sonakshi quickly pushed him back gently.

'Rohit, relax. Tumhe chott lagi..'

'Sona! Yeh sab..kya..'

'Araam se..'

She calmed him down.

He looked around and realised where he was.

'Rohit, you were injured, surgery..'

'Sona! Mira! Woh us ne..'

'Yes! She shot at you! Shukar hai bullet kisi bone ko hit nahin ki. Nikaal di hai. Tum theek ho..'

'Woh..woh..'

She knew what he wanted to ask.

'Police ne Mira ko arrest kar liya hai Rohit.'

'Paagal aurat! Us ne bataya kuch?'

'Mein statement dene nahin gayi..'

'But why? Tumhe jaana chahiye tha. Such an awful woman. Tumhe bhi nuqsan pohncha sakti thi. Tumhe jaana chahiye tha! Aisa bhi kya tha..'

Sonakshi stopped him.

'Hunh?'

Her voice broke and the pent up stress of the last few hours, came rushing back to the fore.

Rohit saw unshed tears in her eyes.

'Sona! Hey! I'm sorry..idhar aao..dekho idhar..'

Sonakshi went to stand next to him.

He lifted his good hand and wiped the tears from her face.

'Please! I'm sorry. Or mein theek hun. Ro mat, please.'

She nodded.

'The last few hours have been the worst of my life Rohit. Jab tum wahan..behosh..and the blood..mujhse baat nahin kar rahe thay..mein..'

She leaned down and hugged him. Rohit brought his right arm around her neck.

'I'm sorry Sona! You know ke mere bas mein hota, to yeh sab hota hi nahin..'

'Tum kyun sorry bol rahe ho? Tumne usse bola tha ke aao mujhe goli maar do..duffer!'

She looked at him through her blurred vision.

'I'm just so glad tum..theek ho..mein..'

'Bas bhi karo Sona! Mein theek hun..tum ho yahan, mere paas..'

'Rohit! Please, tum mujhe kahin chorr ke mat jaana..mein to..jee hi nahin paungi.'

'Aray, pagal! Itni senti kyun ho rahi ho? Tum bhejna bhi chaho gi, tab bhi kahin nahin jaane wala..so relax!'

Sonakshi smiled through her tears.

'Ab tum rest karo..so jao..mein yahin hun..'

'Hmm..'

Rohit held her hand as she sat again next to the bed.

He finally dozed off and eventually, so did she.
