Two Weeks Later

At Spoby's House

"Babe, don't you think that you should maybe take a little break from work? Just for a little while." Toby said as he sat down next to Spencer on the couch. "You mean from trying to find where Jerry's hiding." Spencer said as she took her eyes off of her laptop and looked at him. "I just don't want you running yourself down." Toby said softly. "I don't need to take a break though, I'm fine." Spencer said as she picked up her mug and took a sip of her coffee. "Yeah okay, tell that to the headache that I know that you still have." Toby said and Spencer sighed softly. "Tobes, I am fine, I can work through it. I just want to find him already so we can make sure that he doesn't hurt us anymore, is that too much to ask?" She said and Toby could tell that she was trying to hold back tears, he shook his head. "No, it's not. I want that too, you know that. I mean everything that he's done.... especially shooting you... yes I want him to pay for everything, but your dad and Sonny are going to find him. They wouldn't want you doing this to yourself as much as I don't." He said. "I know, but I can't just keep sitting around waiting. I mean yes I took a break yesterday, for Emily Scout's Birthday, but now I'm back at it, this is my job after all." Spencer said. "Look, I'm glad that you were able to put this aside yesterday for Emily Scout and I'm thankful that we were all able to have some good quality family time at her party, and yes being a PI is your job, but you don't have to be involved in trapping Jerry, I know that your dad would say the same thing." Toby said. "I know, but I can't just keep sitting around waiting, I had to start looking into it myself, I'm doing this for us Tobes. So we can get on with our lives and stop looking over our shoulders." Spencer said. "I understand that this is stressful Spence, but I can't almost lose you again, please at least just take a break. You need it." Toby said, pleading her with his eyes. "Oh come on, don't give me that look, I am fine-" Spencer said before wincing a little and putting her hand on her head in pain and Toby put his hand on her back comfortingly. "Spence..." He said and she sucked in a deep breath and looked up at him. "Okay, okay. I'll take a break, and we can finish this conversation later. Right now I just want you to hold me." She said as she gave him her puppy dog eyes. "Hey, now you're giving me the look. Come here." Toby said as he wrapped his arms around her and laid down on the couch as he held her in his arms. "I'm sorry. You know I don't want to scare you." She whispered to him as she laid her head down on his chest. "I know, we'll talk about it later, just rest." Toby whispered softly to her and she nodded before closing her eyes and trying to let herself get some rest and Toby just laid there as he watched her rest, he was hoping that she'd be able to sleep for a bit before Marion wakes up.

At Jason and Sam's Penthouse

"Phoenix did not want me to leave her alone at first." Jason said as he walked downstairs and sat next to Sam who was on the couch, she closed her laptop and looked at him. "That doesn't surprise me, she loves her daddy." She said. "And I love her." Jason said as he smiled softly at her before kissing her forehead. "I can see that you're working on a case." He said and Sam nodded. "Yeah, I am, but right now I need to take a break from this case for a minute, clear my head and focus on my amazing husband." She said as she smiled softly at him. Well I appreciate that, but you know that I can tell that it's not just work that's on your mind, it's Spence." Jason said and she nodded. "I just... I hope that she takes a break, I don't doubt that Toby will make sure that she does though." Sam said. "I'm sure that he will, I wish that she would stop trying to find Jerry though, yes she's a PI but the last thing I want is for him to shoot her again." Jason said. "I know that's the last thing that we both want, but I mean I can understand her frustration because you haven't been able to track him down yet." Sam said. "Well I'm meeting Spinelli at The Metro Court soon, and hopefully he'll have an update for me on that front." Jason said and Sam nodded. "I sure hope so, it is so great having Spinelli around permanently again." She said. "I couldn't agree more." Jason said.
