Chapter Eighty Two

A Week Later

At Spoby's House

"How're you doing?" Toby asked Spencer as he watched her stare at the breakfast he made for her. "I'm okay, just anxious." Spencer said and he nodded because he knew exactly why.

"Oscar's treatment results." Toby said and Spencer nodded before looking over at him.

"W-what if the trial didn't work?" Spencer said worriedly, her voice cracking at the end of the sentence and Toby gently put his hand on her knee and rubbed it comfortingly. "Hey, it's going to be okay, your Dad said he'd call when he heard something from Drew right?" Toby said and Spencer nodded. "Yeah he did." She said.

"I know it's hard, but worrying is definitely not good for you or Marion." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "I know Tobes, I'm trying to stay positive but it's not really working." She said. "Is there anything I can do to distract you?" Toby asked. "Well since you asked, there is something." Spencer said. "And what's that?" Toby asked. "Can you please get me another cup of decaf?" Spencer asked and Toby laughed softly.
"I should've seen that coming." He said and Spencer smiled. "You really should've." Spencer said laughing. "Alright but this is your last cup." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "Absolutely." She said and he smiled at her before getting up and pouring her another cup of decaf coffee and then he walked back over to her and handed her the cup and she smiled softly at him before taking a sip of it. "I can already see it now that Marion is gonna inherit your coffee addiction." Toby said and Spencer laughed. "You're probably not wrong about that." She said. "I wish I didn't have to go to work soon." Toby said. "Yeah me too, are you sure you have to?" Spencer asked. "Unfortunately yeah I do, you going to be okay here?" Toby said and Spencer nodded. "Yeah I'll be fine, I've got Maggs, and besides there's some work I need to get done anyway, it'll be a good distraction." Spencer said and Toby nodded. "Okay, just know that I'm a phone call away if you need anything." He said. "I know." Spencer said smiling softly at him.

Twenty Minutes Later

"Thanks for breakfast, husband." Spencer said smiling at him. "I never get tired of hearing that, and you're welcome." Toby said before.kissing her forehead. "I love you." Spencer said smiling at him. "I love you more." Toby said smiling at her and then he put his hand on her stomach. "I love you too Marion." He said smiling and then he felt a small kick from Marion and Spencer smiled. "She loves you too." She said. "Everything will be okay, I promise." Toby said and Spencer nodded and then Toby leaned in and kissed her lips softly before saying goodbye to Maggie and then he left the house leaving Spencer to her thoughts.

At GH

"Chocolate Chip Cookies from Kelly's." Josslyn said happily as she walked into Oscar's Hospital Room holding a small bag in her hand and he smiled at her. "Fresh out of the oven, I had them made special for you." Joss said as she walked over to his bedside. "You did?" Oscar asked curiously and Joss laughed. "No,they just made a fresh batch and my timing was impeccable." She said as she handed him the bag. "Thanks Joss." Oscar said. "You don't need to thank me, I'm just glad that the trial is finally over and you're getting released tomorrow, speaking of which, can we have lunch at Kelly's?" Joss asked and Oscar nodded. "Lunch would be a bonus. I just want to get out of this hospital room and get back to my life." Oscar said and Joss smiled softly.

In Kim's Office

"Are they in?" Kim asked Jenny nervously and she shook her head. "Not yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer." She said and Kim nodded. "That's funny because I have no concept of time. Five minutes, five hours... every second I have to hear whether or not there's hope for my son it's like an eternity." Kim said sadly. "Sorry, I knew you'd be climbing the walls, I know Drew has a company to run and he can't be here every second but it'll be best if you hear the results together." Jenny said and Kim nodded. "Absolutely, Drew can be here at a moment's notice. Nothing's more important right now than Oscar." She said.
