Chapter Ninety Six

At GH

“Please just tell us that Ali is okay.” Chase said desperately and they all watched as a small smile formed on Amy's face. “She's out of surgery, but we don't know when she's going to wake up.” Amy said. “But she is going to wake up right?” Spencer asked. “We are very hopeful yes, the surgery went well and we all know how strong she is, I don't have any doubts in my mind that she'll be okay.” Amy said and everyone nodded. “Can I please see her?” Chase asked. “She's in recovery right now but I'll let you know when we get her settled into a room, but her parents might want to see her first.” Amy said and Chase nodded. “Yeah of course, and I understand that.” He said and Spencer and Toby looked at him sympathetically.
“She's going to be okay, and when she wakes up we know that you will be there for her.” Spencer said. “Of course, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.” Chase said. “And that's when I knew that something was wrong, when nobody could get ahold of you.” Toby said. “Well if it weren't for you and Jason I don't know how much longer I would've been in that cabin so thank you, I owe you one now.” Chase said but Toby shook his head. “No you don't, I was just saving my best friend, no thanks necessary.” He said and Chase nodded and Spencer smiled softly at them. “Okay I'm going to go tell Lulu and Dante that Ali's out of surgery.” Hanna said and everyone nodded and then Hanna walked off to find Lulu and Dante and Amy went back to check on Ali and Spencer turned her attention back to Toby.

“Are you sure you're okay?” Spencer asked as she stroked his cheek gently and he nodded.

“I'm fine Spence, Stavros didn't do anything to me, I'm more worried about you and our daughter.” Toby said. “We're fine, better now that you're back.” Spencer said and Toby gently wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. “Okay good, I'm just sorry that we're in a situation like this again, waiting for one of our friends to wake up from surgery, and Ali certainly doesn't deserve this.” Toby said. “No she doesn't, but we'll get through this and she will be just fine.” Spencer said as she laid her head on his shoulder.

Thirty Minutes Later

Inside Alison's Hospital Room

“Hey baby girl, it's your Mom.” Lulu said softly as she grabbed Ali's hand gently and Dante watched as he was hoping he didn't start to cry again because he's trying to be strong for Lulu's sake. “We really need you to fight this and wake up, you can do it baby girl.” Dante said before kissing her forehead gently and then Lulu turned her head to look at him.

“What if she doesn't though? What if Stabros just gets away with this?” Lulu asked and Dante shook his head. “Baby don't think like that, it won't happen. Stavros is definitely going to pay for doing this to our daughter, but it's going to be okay because she is going to get past this and come back to us.” Dante said. “Can you really promise that though?” Lulu said with another tear falling down her cheek.

“I know our daughter and she is a strong woman, just like her Mother, she'll be okay.” Dante said and Lulu nodded before turning her head back to look at Ali who was still lying there in the bed unconscious, she looked so pale, so fragile and Lulu hated seeing her oldest daughter like this, her baby girl. “She just needs to wake up, that's all I want right now is for her to just open her eyes.” Lulu said as she continued to hold Alison's hand hoping she would feel her fingers start to move or something. “She will baby, she will I promise, we just need to give her some time.” Dante said before kissing his wife's forehead and she nodded, hoping and praying that he was right.

Back Outside Ali's Hospital Room

“I just want her to wake up.” Chase said before sighing and Toby put his hands on his shoulder. “She will, don't worry, although I know that's not easy.” Toby said and Chase nodded. “Yeah, I just want her to know that I'm here.” He said. “She knows, I promise.” Spencer said. “Spence is right, she knows.” Aria said. “Yeah she does.” Emily said. “We're all here for her, and she'll see that when she wakes up.” Hanna said. “Exactly.” Spencer said. “So now we just have to wait.” Carly said. “For however long it takes.” Josslyn said. “Hopefully she'll be awake before we know it, I promise Joss.” Toby said before giving her a comforting hug.
