A Few Days Later
At Kelly's
"I'm really glad that we could do this." Serena said as she smiled softly at Spencer, she was having lunch with her, Toby, and Marion.
"Us too." Spencer said, smiling at her best friend.
"Yeah!" Marion said happily.
"She's very thrilled about this. So are we."
Toby said, smiling softly. "Yeah. It's really been too long since we've been able to have a trio lunch date like this, plus I wanted some extra bestie time. You know that we all love you."
Spencer said. "Right. And with you being Marion's favorite babysitter, We figured it was long overdue." Toby said. "Well, that's because she knows which Aunt loves her the most, Right Marion?" Serena said teasingly as she smiled at Marion who happily smiled back at her. "Yeah!" Marion said happily as she pointed at Serena.
"That's a yes." Spencer said happily. "Like there was ever any doubt. She is seriously so loved, though. By everyone." Serena said. "Oh we know, and we're right there with you guys." Toby said as he smiled softly at Marion who smiled back at him.
"So Toby, how have things been going with the business?" Serena asked. "The business is doing great, thanks for asking." Toby said. "Of course. You deserve it." Serena said. "She's not wrong about that at all." Spencer said.
"Thanks babe." Toby said as he smiled softly at his wife. "You're welcome, you know that I just said the truth." Spencer said, smiling at him. "You know that you two certainly bring out the best in each other. You compliment each other so well." Serena said. "Yeah we do, and we wouldn't want it any other way." Spencer said.
"No, we wouldn't." Toby said. "You guys are so adorable," Serena said. "You know, I could try and find you a man." Spencer said as she looked at her. "Here we go with that again." Toby said jokingly and Serena laughed. "As I've mentioned before, I'm not quite ready for that, yet. I'm just enjoying things as they are right now, and focusing on myself. But I know that you have my back." She said, smiling softly at her. "That's what I'm here for." Spencer said.
"I know, and I've got yours, too. Always." Serena said. "I know you do. I'm very lucky to have you. When the time is right for you, just say the word." Spencer said. "Absolutely." Serena said.
"I love your friendship. You two have a great bond." Toby said. "I love you both, so much. Seriously though, I ended up with the best people in my life." Spencer said as she smiled at her best friend and then her husband. "You know that we feel the same way, babe. We love you." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "He's right about that." Serena said, smiling at her before looking at Marion who was smiling back at her.
At Jason and Sam's Penthouse
"I'm really glad that you could stop by before you head to Crimson." Sam said to Maxie as they sat down on the couch. "Yeah, it was no problem. What's up? I'm assuming this has to do with my case." Maxie said. "Well, yes and no. There are some questions I wanted to ask, but I also just wanted to catch up." Sam said.
"Okay, I can definitely use some good catch up conversation." Maxie said. "I don't doubt that. But first, let's get the rest out of the way." Sam said and Maxie nodded.
"So, it's definitely not Victor, he is truly dead?" She asked her. "According to Anna's resources, yes." Sam said. "Okay, good. I mean, while it would've made sense, anonymous emails aren't exactly his style. Wait, you didn't say anything to Anna about someone being after me, did you?" Maxie said.
"No, of course I wouldn't have done that to you, you'll tell her when you're ready. I just told her that I needed to know that he was truly dead so Spence and I could rule him out as a suspect for this case we're working on, and she didn't ask for details." Sam said. "Thank you, Sam." Maxie said. "Of course." Sam said.
