Chapter Ninety Seven

The Next Morning

In Ali's Hospital Room

Chase was currently lying in bed while Ali was sleeping with her head against his chest, she had asked him to get in the bed with her and hold her late last night and of course it was an offer that he couldn't refuse and even though Ali was currently sleeping peacefully which Chase was thankful for he didn't exactly get much sleep last night because he was too busy looking after her and making sure she was safe which of course he doesn't mind, because she's his everything.

A little bit later Ali started to stir in his arms and she looked up at him and smiled softly.

“Hey you, how’d you sleep?’’ Chase asked her. ‘’Okay I guess, were you up all night?’’ Ali asked. “I’m fine don’t worry, you’re my concern right now.’’ Chase said and she smiled softly. ‘’You know not that I mind having an overprotective detective boyfriend, but don’t forget to take care of yourself too.’’ Ali said and Chase nodded. ‘’I am I promise.’’ Chase said and Ali nodded and then the door opened and Kiki walked into the room. ‘’It is good to see you awake.’’ Kiki said smiling softly at her. ‘’It’s good to be back.’’ Ali said smiling back at her. ‘’How’re you feeling?’’ Kiki asked her. ‘’Alright for the moment thanks to the pain meds.” Ali said laughing softly. ‘’Well we’re all glad you’re awake.’’ Kiki said. ‘’Yeah, I know that you’re the one that found me… Kiki i’m sorry that you had to see me like that.’’ Ali said before looking down at her hand that was intertwined with Chase’s and Kiki walked over and gently grabbed her other hand. ‘’Ali you don’t have to apologize, it was not your fault, what matters is you’re going to get better.’’ Kiki said. ‘’Kiki’s right, it was not your fault.’’ Chase said as he squeezed her hand softly and she turned to look at him and smiled softly. ‘’Don’t worry about it, you’re okay now, just focus on healing so you can get out of here.’’ Kiki said and Ali nodded. “I’ll try, because I want to get home as soon as possible.’’ Ali said smiling at Chase and he smiled back, he was very pleased at how well she was recovering already and he couldn't wait for her to be able to get up and walk out of there with him. ‘’Alright i’ll let you two get back to your private cuddling time, i’ll be back to check on you in a little bit.’’ Kiki said and Ali nodded and Kiki gave her a small smile before leaving the room and then Ali turned her head back to Chase and he could tell that something was on her mind by the way she was looking at him. ‘’What is it?’’ He asked. “It’s just… so what’s going to happen to Stavros?’’ Ali asked curiously. ‘’Well currently he’s still in custody at the PCPD.’’ Chase said and Ali nodded. ‘’But what’s going to happen now? Like is he going to go to trial?’’ She asked. ‘’I think they’re still figuring that out, but I don’t want you worrying about that piece of trash right now, I want you to focus on getting you better okay?’’ Chase said and Ali nodded and gave him a small smile and he smiled back and then he kissed her forehead gently and then once again the door opened and in walked Dante and Lulu and Ali smiled softly at her parents.

“Hi Mom, hi Dad.’’ Ali said happily. “Hi sweetheart, how’re you feeling?’’ Lulu asked her. ‘’I’m doing okay, but right now that’s mostly because of the pain meds, well and because Chase is here.’’ Ali said before smiling softly at her boyfriend and he smiled back at her. ‘’You don’t know how glad we are to hear that, I wanted to tell you that your Grandmother is bringing Charlotte and Rocco by later, they really want to see their big sister.’’ Lulu said smiling softly. ‘’Well I really want to see them, do they know anything?’’ Ali asked and Lulu and Dante shook their heads. ‘’No, they just know that you were hurt pretty badly so you needed to stay here to rest and get better.’’ Dante said and Ali nodded. “Okay good, they’re far too young for any of this.’’ She said.
