Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Nine

The Next Morning

At Spoby's House

"This is absolutely perfect." Spencer said as she smiled softly at him. "I couldn't agree with you more." Toby said as he smiled back at her, they had just finished cleaning the dishes from their breakfast and now they were in the living room playing with Marion who was playing in her ball pit and Maggie was lying down next to her.

"How're you holding up?" Toby asked her.

"I'm doing okay, just focusing on this moment, right here, with you and our little princess. You- you don't have to go to work today, do you?" Spencer said. "You want me to stay home today? Not that I'm complaining." Toby said.
"I mean, if you can tweak your schedule a little, but I understand if you have to go." Spencer said. "Hey, you are way more important than work, you know that." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "I do know that, but I also know how important you finally getting your own business up and running is to you." Spencer said. "Not more important than you, never. I'll still be able to get my business started this month, I don't want you worrying about that, my concern right now is making sure that you're okay." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "So…" She said and he grabbed her hand comfortingly. "So, I will call my boss and explain that you need me here, it'll be okay." He said and Spencer nodded.
"Okay, if you're sure." Spencer said. "Positive. Besides, I don't think I'd be able to get that much work done while wondering whether or not your parents are able to track down Jerry. Which, I mean, this is Jason and Sam we're talking about, I know they will, but still I want to be here with you while we wait to hear from them." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "Sounds perfect to me." She said, smiling softly at him. "Good." Toby said as he smiled at her before gently kissing her forehead.

At Chase's Apartment

"I know that I always say this but it's true, I love when you spend the night." Chase said as he smiled at Ali, she smiled back at him. "I love spending the night too, I love being here with you." She said happily. "Well of course I love being anywhere with you, but I really love having alone time with you here." Chase said as he smiled at her before kissing her forehead gently. "You're not… upset or anything that I still haven't decided to officially move in yet, right?" Ali asked him and he shook his head. "Are you kidding? Of course I'm not upset, as I've said before you take as much time as you need, things are perfect the way they are. When you're ready, I'm ready." He said and she smiled at him. "You know that you're a great man Detective Chase." Ali said as she smiled softly at him and he smiled softly at her before looking down for a second.

"You okay?" Ali asked him with concern in her voice. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about something." Chase said. "Thinking about what?" Ali asked him curiously. "Just… I don't know … I just don't ever want to lose you." Chase said, Ali put her hand on his shoulder comfortingly. "Hey, you won't ever lose me. I'm part Spencer and part Falconeri, I'm pretty tough." She said as she smiled softly at him. "Yeah, yeah you are." Chase said as he smiled softly at her. "And besides that, I have a pretty amazing boyfriend who also happens to be a detective, so I think I'm good." Ali said and Chase laughed softly. "Thanks for that compliment. You know, I could just stay here on the couch with you all day." He said before stroking her hair gently.

"Me too. Unfortunately, I know that we both have to get to our jobs soon." Ali said as she sighed softly. "Yeah… but in the meantime, come here." Chase said as he smiled softly at her before gently pulling her into his lap and then he kissed her passionately and she smiled into the kiss and kissed him back, then they rested their foreheads against each other's. "Lunch at The Metro Court later?" He asked her and she nodded. "Yeah, that sounds perfect," She said, smiling at him. "Now I think I can spare a few more minutes before leaving for work." She said before leaning in to kiss him again and he smiled into the kiss and kissed her back passionately as he held her closer to him.
