The Next Morning

At Spoby's House

In Their Bedroom

Toby was laying in bed doing one of his favorite things to do in the morning, watching Spencer who was sleeping with her head on his chest.

It was almost 9:00 AM and he was actually a little surprised that she wasn't awake yet, but he understands because he knows how tried she's been because of the pregnancy, she looked really peaceful and her hand was resting on her baby bump and he gently put his hand on top of hers and just kept admiring his beautiful wife, until he felt her fingers start to move in his hand and she slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him.

“Good morning gorgeous.” Toby said smiling back at her before gently kissing her forehead.

“Good morning handsome.” Spencer said happily. “How’d you sleep? You looked very comfortable.” Toby said. “Of course, I'm always comfortable with you.” Spencer said smiling and Toby smiled back. “Well I'm glad, Merry Christmas baby girl.” Toby said. “Merry Christmas Tobes.” Spencer said before giving him a kiss on the cheek. “You ready to get out of bed?” He asked and she shook her head.

“Not yet, just a few more minutes.” She said and Toby nodded. “Okay we can lay here for a few more minutes, which is probably a good idea considering we've got a pretty busy day today.” He said. “Yeah that's an understatement.” Spencer said and he laughed. “Yeah I guess you're right.” He said and she smiled. “Well we have to go to my parents, Sonny and Carly's, and then later this evening is our little get together that we've invited everyone too, definitely a busy day.” Spencer said and Toby nodded as he ran his fingers through her hair. “Yeah, but right now is just all about us and our first Christmas in our new house and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than in this bed with you.” Toby said and Spencer smiled. “Me either.” She said happily.

“And next year will be even better because we'll have our little princess.” Toby said smiling as he rubbed his hand on her stomach gently.

“Yeah I know, a part of me still doesn't feel like it's real, that we're going to be parents, but I couldn't be happier that we're finally going to have the family we've always wanted.” Spencer said. “Me either, you make me the happiest man in the world and I couldn't be happier that you're carrying our baby.” Toby said before kissing her forehead. “As much as I want to keep laying here… do you think we could go downstairs now? Marion and I are getting kind of hungry.” Spencer said and Toby nodded. “Yeah of course, let's go downstairs and I'll make us some breakfast.” Toby said and Spencer nodded and they both reluctantly got out of their bed and as Spencer was making the bed she noticed that Toby was staring at her with a smile on his face.

“What?” Spencer asked curiously. “Nothing, I just never get tired of seeing how amazing you look wearing my shirts.” Toby said and Spencer could feel herself blushing. “You know right now I'm even more grateful that you don't mind me stealing your shirts because they're much more comfortable than my clothes right now.” Spencer said and Toby smiled softly at her.

Downstairs in the Kitchen

“You seriously know the way to my heart Tobias Cavanaugh.” Spencer said laughing before taking another bit of the French Toast he cooked for her. “Well thank you I'd like to think it's my specialty.” Toby said smiling and Spencer smiled back at him before looking down at her plate. “I know that look.” Toby said and Spencer shook her head. “It's nothing.” She said before putting another piece of French Toast in her mouth. “Are you forgetting that I know you better than anyone else?” Toby asked raising his eyebrow. “Fine… I know that I should just be focusing on spending this day with you, but I just can't stop thinking about the person sending my Mom the emails.” Spencer said. “Spence,” Toby said before grabbing her hand gently and she looked at him. “I know this whole thing is very frustrating for you but I promise you that it's going to be okay, nothing bad is going to happen to your Mom.” Toby said and Spencer nodded. “I know, and I'm so glad that I have you to keep me distracted.” She said smiling at him. “Well good because him not going anywhere, now just keep focusing on the breakfast that your husband cooked for you.” Toby said smiling at her.
