The Next Morning

At Spoby's House

"This has been another pretty great morning." Spencer said, smiling softly at Toby before she took a sip of her coffee. "Yes it was. Another great morning with my favorite people." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "You know I still find myself wondering how I got so lucky to be given this amazing life with you." Spencer said as she took another sip of her coffee. "Yeah, I'm always wondering the same thing. Seriously, how did I get so lucky to have you as the person who showed up on my doorstep to tutor me In French?" Toby said. "I mean, I think the only logical way to explain it is that fate brought us together." Spencer said, smiling at him. "I certainly can't argue with that. You know that you saved me and changed my life for the better, and I could never regret a second of it. I am so grateful that I'm your husband. And, we have the best daughter." Toby said as he smiled back at her before turning his head to look at Marion who was sitting next to him in her high chair, she smiled at her daddy and he smiled back at her.

"Yes we do." Spencer said, smiling softly at their daughter. "The two of you are the best thing to happen to me." Toby said. "You're the best thing to happen to us. I truly don't know what I'd do without you." Spencer said. "Well you don't have to worry about that because I'm not going anywhere." Toby said as he looked back at her.

"I know, but still. So, do you have to actually leave for work today?" Spencer asked him. "Yeah, I have to go to one of the houses my team and I are working on, but I still have at least a couple of hours before I have to get going, once Serena gets here to watch Marion. You're still here for a little while too, right?" He said and she nodded." Yeah, I don't have to leave for a while." She said before taking another sip of her coffee. "Perfect. Because I think that we need to have a little extra quality family time before we have to get to our jobs." Toby said. "I was thinking the same thing. Do you have anything specific in mind?" Spencer said. "Well, how about we all go to the park for a little bit. Then maybe we can stop by Perks." Toby said. "That sounds perfect to me." Spencer said and Maggie barked happily. "And Maggs agrees." Spencer said as Toby laughed softly. "Yes she does." He said. "Yes, you're included." Spencer said as she petted Maggie's head.

"Spence." Toby said and Spencer lifted her head up and looked over at him. "Yeah?" She asked.

"Come over here." Toby said and Spencer stood up from her chair and walked over to him, he wrapped his arms around her and gently pulled her into his lap and she laughed softly. "I love you." Toby said as he smiled at her. "I love you, too." Spencer said as she smiled back at him and he kissed her passionately and she smiled into the kiss and kissed him back.

At Jason and Sam's Penthouse

"I'd say this was another perfect morning. Breakfast with you and the kids." Jason said as he smiled softly at Sam, they were both sitting on the couch. "I couldn't agree more, and I told you the kids would be happy to see you." Sam said as she smiled back at him. "Yes, they were. But, I can't help but still feel bad about not getting home until they were all asleep last night." Jason said as he looked down for a second. "And I told you that you don't have anything to feel guilty about. It's fine, Jason. You were doing your job, and then the kids saw you this morning. They know that you love them, and most of the time you are here to help me tuck them in. You are an incredible father. Never doubt that." Sam said as she grabbed his hand comfortingly and he looked up at her, smiling softly.

"You know that you're amazing. And you know just what to say." Jason said. "Because it's the truth. Now please stop being so hard on yourself, Jason." Sam said. "Alright, you made your point. I'll stop." Jason said. "Good. When do you have to go to Sonny's?" Sam asked him. "I have a little bit before I have to go. At least another half hour." Jason said. "Good, because I have a little bit before Spence should get here and we have to get to work." Sam said. "So, what exactly are you saying?" Jason asked her. "Well, I'm saying that right now, we're alone. Brooklyn went to go work on a new song, Danny's at School, Emily Scout is at preschool, and Phoenix is with your mom. So, we have some time for some extra private alone time." Sam said. "I see what you're saying. And that sounds perfect to me." Jason said as he smiled softly at her. "Perfect." Sam said as she smiled softly back at him. "Let's head upstairs, then." Jason said. "You read my mind." Sam said as she smiled softly at him, and then they both walked towards the stairs, hand in hand.
