A Couple Weeks Later

At Spoby's House

It was now March 18th, the night before Toby's Birthday and Spencer was currently in their kitchen trying to bake his favorite kind of cake, Chocolate with Chocolate icing. She was planning to do it not so last minute but they've both been pretty busy lately, with getting ready for Marion's arrival and everything considering Spencer's due date is in a couple of days, so once Toby fell asleep she very gently got out of his grip which she was surprised didn't wake him up and she came downstairs and now here she is trying to mix the batter for Toby's cake, and of course Marion is awake and kicking.

"Come on baby girl, please cooperate with Mommy so I can finish making your Daddy's Birthday cake." Spencer said as she rubbed her stomach gently trying to calm her daughter and after the kicks got softer she went back to stirring the cake batter and once she was sure that it was pretty smooth she poured the first half of the mix into one of the cake pans for the first layer, but before she could pour the rest of the batter into the second pan she was interrupted.

"Spence? What're you doing up so late?"

Spencer turned around to see Toby standing there trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

"I could ask you the same question handsome, why don't you go back to bed?" Spencer said but he ignored her request and walked over to her. "What're you doing babe?" He asked and Spencer was trying to think of what to tell him without ruining the surprise, but then he saw the stuff on the counter. "Spence, were you trying to make my Birthday cake?" Toby asked as he raised his eyebrow and Spencer blushed. "You know it's really cute when you do that." She said and Toby crossed his arms. "You're completely dodging the question Spence." He said. "Okay okay maybe I was, I was trying to surprise you." Spencer said and he smiled softly at her. "Spence that's really sweet, but you could've just told me." Toby said and Spencer playfully rolled her eyes.

"Well then it wouldn't have been a surprise silly." She said and Toby smiled softly at her.

"Well since I know now why don't you let me help you?" He asked. "You really don't have to, I'll finish up in here and meet you upstairs." Spencer said but he shook his head. "Yeah I don't think so Spence." He said. "Alright then you can stay." Spencer said as Toby gently wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you, now what can I do?" He asked. "I just have to put the the rest of the batter in this pan and then out both pans in the oven, and then wait for it to finish cooling and frost it." Spencer said and Toby nodded as she stroked her hair. "You know I think I have a better idea." He said smirking at her. "And what would be better than making your Birthday cake?" Spencer asked him curiously. "This." Toby said as he took his finger and dipped it into the cake batter and then he gently put it on Spencer's neck and she looked at him in shock.

"Tobias Cavanaugh!" She exclaimed although she was also trying to hold in her laughter. "What're you going to do about it?" Toby asked smirking at her before licking the rest of the batter off his finger and she playfully rolled her eyes. "You're going to pay for that." She said.

"Yeah we'll see about that." Toby said before he started to run off. "Tobes that's not fair you know I can't run that fast right now!" Spencer said and Toby walked back into the kitchen.

"I know, I'm sorry babe I guess I wasn't really thinking, and you know I wouldn't want anything to happen to you or Marion." Toby said looking down and Spencer gently cupped his face with her hands making him look at her.

"I know that Tobes it's alright, but if you really want to have a little cake batter war I guess it couldn't hurt, I just have to be careful." Spencer said and Toby nodded. "You know you're pretty amazing." He said smiling softly at her. "So you've told me." Spencer said smiling back at him before kissing his cheek.
