Chapter One Hundred and Ninety Six

The Next Day

At Spoby's House

"I would say that this has already been a pretty productive morning. Thank you again, for breakfast." Spencer said as she smiled up at Toby. They were sitting on the couch, his arm was wrapped around her and her head was lying on his shoulder. "No thanks necessary, you know that. But you're welcome. And thank you for helping me with the dishes. Even though I said I would handle it." Toby said as he smiled softly at her.

"And you know there's no thanks necessary for that, either. But you're welcome." Spencer said, smiling softly at him before looking over at Marion who was on a blanket on the floor, playing with her favorite toy coffee cup, Maggie was laying on the floor near her, watching her.

"They're pretty cute." Toby said as he followed her gaze and smiled softly at Marion and Maggie. "Yes, they are." Spencer said, smiling softly.

"So, how much time do we have left with you before you go meet your mom at the penthouse?" Toby asked her. "Ummm, I think I have at least a couple more hours. We're starting a little later today." Spencer said. "Okay, good. Because I selfishly just want some more alone time with my gorgeous wife." Toby said and she laughed softly. "Well, I'm all yours right now." She said, smiling softly at him. "Fantastic." Toby said, gently kissing her forehead.

"You have the get-together for Ali tonight at The Haunted Star right?" He asked her. "Yeah, that's tonight." Spencer said. "Are you excited?" He asked her. "Yeah, I really am. It should be a fun evening. And I hope this helps Ali, getting to relax for a bit. But of course that doesn't erase the fact that I'm going to miss my two favorite people like crazy." Spencer said as she ran her hand through his air, smiling at him. "I'm glad, I hope you all have a great time. We're going to miss you too. But we'll be fine. And who knows, maybe I'll invite Chase over or something." Toby said. "I think that'd be a good idea." Spencer said. "Yeah, me too. But, that doesn't erase what I just said. We are going to miss you. Especially me." Toby said as he leaned in to kiss her lips softly, she happily kissed him back.

"I'll make you a deal. Or more like a promise I guess, for tonight." Spencer said after they broke apart from the kiss. "Okay... what?" Toby asked curiously. "I promise that when I get home tonight I will make sure that we have some extra quality alone time. Maybe we could play some Scrabble or something...?" Spencer said. "I'd say that it's a deal." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "Great. It's a deal." Spencer said, smiling. "Perfect. Gosh, I love you so much." Toby said as he stroked her hair gently with his free hand. "I love you too, Tobes." Spencer said as she rested her forehead against his, then she kissed him and he kissed her back, deepening the kiss and they continued to kiss for a little bit longer until they had to reluctantly pull apart for air, and then they rested their foreheads against each other once again.

At Lulu and Dante's House

"Well, this is a nice surprise. You missed me already, huh?" Lulu said as she spoke to Dante on the phone, who was busy working at the PCPD.

"Always." Dante said. "I miss you, too. Is everything okay at work?" Lulu said. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just wanted to check in on my wife. So, you're having that little surprise get-together for Ali tonight right?" Dante said. "Yeah, that's tonight. I just hope it helps her, and she enjoys it and has some fun." Lulu said. "I'm sure she'll love it. Especially since you've put a lot of thought into it." Dante said. "Thanks for that compliment." Lulu said. "Well it's the truth. But you're welcome." Dante said. "So, how late do you have to work tonight? You think you'll be home by the time I am tonight?" Lulu asked him. "I'm actually not sure yet." Dante said. "Of course. I understand." Lulu said. "But I can definitely promise that you will see me tonight. So, what're you up to right now?" Dante said. "I'm getting ready to head to The Haunted Star soon, finish getting things ready for later." Lulu said. "Oh, good. Good luck with that. Not that you need it." Dante said. "Well thank you." Lulu said, smiling softly to herself. "Alright, I should probably get back to work." Dante said. "Of course. I love you, be careful." Lulu said. "I always am, you know that. And I love you too, Lulu." Dante said. "I'll see you tonight." Lulu said. "See you tonight." Dante said.
