Chapter Sixty Five

“Hey guys, okay so I finally have Oscar's test results.” Elizabeth said and everyone looked at her. “What's wrong with Oscar?” Kim asked with concern. “Maybe it would be better if I talked to you and Drew in private.” Elizabeth said but Drew shook his head. “Just tell us now, please Elizabeth.” He said and Elizabeth nodded. “Okay, this is really hard for me to say, and I'm so sorry to have to be the one to tell you this…….. but Oscar has cancer.”

“W-W-what?” Kim asked with worry and shock in her voice. “Y-you're saying that Oscar has cancer.” Drew said and Elizabeth nodded. “O-oh my God.” Spencer said and Toby squeezed her hand comfortingly. “Oscar has a brain tumor, and it's too dangerous to operate on, and the cancer is already in the final stages, I'm so sorry.” Elizabeth said before looking down at the floor. “N-n-n-n-no, this can't be happening!” Kim said as tears ran down her face. “S-so you're saying that Oscar doesn't have much longer to live? He's only fifteen!” Drew said in frustration and worry in his voice as he tried to hold back tears. “I’m so sorry I wish there was something I could do.” Elizabeth said. “W-we can get a second opinion right? I mean there has to be something we can do to treat him.” Kim said. “Well there's always someone testing out new medical trials and maybe there's one that Oscar can participate in.” Elizabeth said and Drew and Kim nodded. “We'll look into it.” Kim said and Elizabeth nodded. “Spence, you okay?” Jason asked and she nodded. “Y-yeah I'm fine.” Spencer said, but she didn't even look Jason in the eye which worried him. Spencer then turned around and hugged Toby who was being extremely quiet.
“I know this must be bringing up some painful memories for you, you okay?” She whispered to him and he nodded. “Y-yeah I'll be alright, my focus is on you and our baby right now.” He whispered to her and she nodded. “We'll get through this together.” Spencer said and Toby nodded before kissing her forehead gently.
Spencer then turned and looked at her Uncle. “I'm so sorry Uncle Drew, I can't even imagine how hard this much be for you, and how you're going to tell Oscar that he has cancer.” She said sympathetically. “It's not your fault Spence.” Drew said. “I mean, should we even tell him right now? Should we at least just let him have tonight? It's his first Anniversary with Joss shouldn't we just let them celebrate?” Kim asked. “Look I understand that you would want to do that, but you need to tell him now, before he finds out about it another way.” Spencer said and Kim nodded. “Yeah I know, you're right Spence.” She said. “Yeah you're right, we need to tell him and it's better if we just do it now because it's only going to be harder if we wait.” Drew said and Kim nodded.

In Oscar's Hospital Room

“Oscar, honey we need to talk. Kim said and Oscar nodded. “Okay… Did the test results come back?” He asked and Kim nodded. “Yes they did.” She said. “I can leave if you want me to.” Josslyn said. “I think it's best if you stay Joss.” Drew said and as much as that comforted Oscar, it also worried him.

“There's nothing seriously wrong, right?
The seizure happened because I have hypoglycemia or something right?” Oscar asked and Kim shook her head. “No Oscar, you don't have hypoglycemia.” She said. “Okay, so what's wrong with Oscar?” Josslyn asked with concern. “Yeah, what's wrong with me?” Oscar asked with worry in his voice. “Oscar…. You have cancer.” Kim finally said as she tried to keep the tears from falling down her face and Drew placed his hands on her shoulders comfortingly. “W-what?” Oscar asked in disbelief and Josslyn shook her head rapidly.

“N-no, there has to be a mistake!” She cried and Drew shook his head. “Believe me I wish it was a mistake Joss.” He said. “H-how bad is it?” Josslyn asked, more tears threatening to spill out of her eyes at the thought of losing her boyfriend. “Y-yeah, H-how bad is it?” Oscar asked worriedly. “Oscar honey… you have a brain tumor.” Kim said trying not to break down crying and the looks on Oscar and Josslyn's faces we're definitely distraught. “A-are they gonna operate? Are they gonna take it out?” Oscar asked as he could already feel the tears threatening to spill out of his eyes and Josslyn squeezed his hand reassuringly. “Because of where the tumor is located they can't do surgery it would be too dangerous.” Drew said.
