Chapter Seventy Five

The Next Morning

At Spoby's House

In Their Bedroom

Toby was currently lying in bed watching over Spencer who was still sleeping with her head still laying on his chest, he was using one hand to play with her hair and the other hand was gently resting on her baby bump where he could feel soft kicks from their child and Toby was just thinking to himself how lucky he is to have Spencer and this baby, when he felt her fingers on top of his on her stomach and sure enough when he looked back down at Spencer her eyes were open and she was smiling softly at him. “Good morning gorgeous.” Toby said before placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

“Good morning handsome.” Spencer said happily. “I was trying to let you sleep a little bit more.” Toby said and Spencer laughed a little. “Yeah well tell that to our child.” She said. “Speaking of our child, are you excited about today?” Toby asked and she nodded happily.

“Definitely, we get to find out the gender today.” She said smiling. “Yes we do baby girl, but I think you mean just getting confirmation of what I already know and that's that we're having a little girl.” Toby said and Spencer playfully rolled her eyes. “Well we'll see about that, what time is the appointment again?” Spencer asked curiously. “2:30.” Toby said and she nodded. “And what time is it right now?” Spencer asked and Toby reached over to the nightstand and looked at his phone and then put it down and turned his head back to Spencer. “Almost 12:30.” He said. “You really were letting me sleep in weren't you.” She said laughing. “Of course, I know you needed it.” Toby said and she smiled. “Well thank you babe.” Spencer said as she stroked his cheek gently and he smiled softly at her. “No need to thank me for taking care of my two favorite people.” Toby said. “We love you.” Spencer said smiling at him. “And I love you both so much more.” Toby said before pressing his lips against hers and Spencer moaned softly before kissing him back passionately and they continued kissing until they had to break apart for air and then they rested their foreheads .” against each other's. “As much as I want to keep doing that I think we should go ahead and go downstairs and get some breakfast.” Toby said and Spencer nodded. “Yeah you're probably right.” She said. “Okay then let's go downstairs and I'll make us some breakfast.” Toby said and then Maggie who was still sleeping by Toby's feet at the end of the bed woke up and barked happily and they both laughed. “Yes Maggie you get some breakfast too.” Toby said and Spencer smiled. “Like we would ever forget to feed our first princess. She said. “We could never.” Toby said smiling at her and then Maggie happily barked again and they laughed. “Okay we should probably get downstairs now.” Toby said and Spencer nodded and then they both got off the bed and headed downstairs with Maggie following behind them as they went into the kitchen.

Two Hours Later

“There's my favorite patient.” Kim said happily smiling at Spencer as she walked into the room and Spencer laughed. “You're just saying that because we're family.” She said. “That's only part of the reason Spence.” Kim said smiling. “So are you two still going to want to know the gender?” She asked and Spencer and Toby both nodded. “Absolutely.” Spencer said before smiling at Toby and he smiled back and squeezed her hand gently. “Okay perfect, so how have you been feeling Spence?” Kim asked . “Pretty good, mostly just a little tired.” Spencer said and Kim nodded. “Well that's definitely normal, so nothing else, anything out of the ordinary?” Kim asked and Spencer shook her head. “No, no pains or anything, other than the kicking off course.” Spencer said before laughing a little. “Okay that's good, so are you both ready to check on the little one?” Kim asked and Spencer and Toby nodded.

“I think we're both more than ready here.” Spencer said smiling at Toby and he smiled back at her. “Alright well then we'll you know what time is is then Spence.” Kim said and they both laughed. “Seriously though why does the gel have to be so cold?” Spencer asked. “I wish I had a solid answer for you there.” Kim said. “You ready?” She asked and Spencer nodded before turning her head to Toby who smiled softly at her. “Don't worry I'll distract you.” He said before kissing her forehead and she smiled. “Okay this will just take a second.” Kim said before she started to put the gel on Spencer's stomach and Spencer kept her eyes on Toby and gently squeezed his hand and he squeezed back. “Okay all done, now let me just turn on the monitor and get the wand.” Kim said and Spencer nodded and Kim turned the monitor on and then out the wand on Spencer's stomach and Toby squeezed Spencer's hand supportingly. “There's your little one.” Kim said happily and Spencer and  Toby looked at the screen and smiled at the sight of their growing baby. “I don't think I'll ever stop being amazed about this, that's our baby.” Spencer said smiling and Toby nodded and wiped the happy tears from her face. “It sure is baby girl, I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing the heartbeat.” He said and Spencer smiled. “Everything's still okay right?” Spencer asked and Kim nodded. “Yup everything is going great Spence, the heartbeat is good and the baby is definitely healthy.” She said and Spencer breathed a sigh of relief and Toby squeezed her hand.
