The Next Day

At Spoby's House

"This has been just what I needed. Quality time with my favorite people." Spencer said happily as she smiled at Toby, they were sitting on the floor playing with Marion and Maggie.

"I couldn't agree with you more." Toby said as he smiled back at her. "I couldn't be more grateful for our little family." Spencer said. "Me either." Toby said. "Seriously, I don't know what I would do without you." Spencer said. "You know that you don't have to worry about that, babe. You're stuck with us." Toby said as he smiled softly at her. "I know, and I wouldn't want it any other way." Spencer said. "Me either." Toby said as he stroked her hair. "You know, I don't know if I can bring myself to leave." Spencer said as she looked over at Marion who was laying next to Maggie as she chewed on one of her teething toys.

"We'll be fine here, I'll keep Marion occupied.

With Maggie's help of course. Right Maggs?" Toby said and Maggie barked happily in response as she wagged her tail.

"I have no doubt that you'll be fine. I mean, our daughter is obsessed with her daddy," she said, laughing softly and so did Toby. "I just...

I don't really feel motivated to throw myself back into work yet. I don't want to leave you."

She said and Toby nodded. "I completely understand that, babe. But you need to go and hopefully find out who's been going after Maxie. We'll be fine. I have some work to take care of here anyway, some sketches I have to work on. Maybe I'll get our little princess's opinion." Toby said, smiling. "She loves watching you work, like I do." Spencer said as she smiled softly at him. "I love having you two as my audience." Toby said. "You deserve it, you're the best Carpenter." Spencer said. "Well thank you, you know you're too good to me."

Toby said. "Well it's true." Spencer said.

"I'm so glad that I have you in my life. Now I know you have to get to work, but do you have to go right now?" Toby asked her. "I think I can stay a few more minutes." Spencer said. "Okay, good." Toby said as he kissed her lips softly and Spencer smiled into the kiss and kissed him back, then after they broke apart, they turned their attention back to Marion and Maggie. Toby wrapped his arm around Spencer and he kissed her forehead, she smiled up at him before looking back at their daughter who was focused on playing with Maggie.

"I hate to cut our little break short, but I'm needed in surgery. A patient emergency." Griffin said and Kiki nodded. "Yeah, of course. You go save another life. I'll be waiting for you." She said, smiling at him before kissing him and he kissed her back, before reluctantly pulling away. "I'll see you in a bit." He said and Kiki nodded, she smiled softly to herself as she watched him walk away from her and get onto the elevator.

"Hi Kiki. Everything okay?" Amy said as she walked over to the Nurse's Station with Ali, Kiki then walked over to join them.

"Hey you two. Yeah, everything's great. Griffin had a patient emergency." Kiki said. "I hope everything's okay." Amy said. "Yeah, me too." Ali said. "Yeah, so do I. But they're in great hands." Kiki said. "Absolutely." Amy said. "Yeah. Everything will be fine. So, you still on break?" Ali said. "Yeah." Kiki said. "Great! Because now so are we, what do you say we

go and get some coffee and catch up?" Amy said. "I say that sounds like just what I need right now." Kiki said. "Me too." Ali said.

"Perks?" Kiki said. "Yeah, of course." Amy said and Ali laughed. "Yes, that's perfect." She said, smiling softly. "So, things are going well with you?" Amy asked. "Yeah, everything is great. Thanks for asking. And for you guys?" Kiki said. "Yeah, things are really great right now."
