A Week Later
At Jason and Sam's Penthouse
"You know that we don't have to go out tonight, we can just stay here and ring in the New Year alone." Jason said and Sam shook her head. "As nice as that sounds, what happened to 'sometimes you just gotta show up'?" Sam asked him, referring to what he said last year. "Now how did I know you were going to bring that up?" He asked her as he raised his eyebrow. "Because you know me." Sam said smiling softly at him. "You're right, I do, and of course I meant what I said last year but you know me I am definitely not always the 'go out and party's kind of guy, and I figured since the kids are at my mom's that maybe we could just stay here." Jason said. "You know that I think that sounds like a great idea, but we already told Carly we'd at least make an appearance at the party at The Metro Court." Sam said and he nodded. "Alright alright, fine. You look gorgeous by the way." Jason said smiling at her as he stroked her hair gently. "I love you." Sam said smiling back at him. "I love you too." Jason said before kissing her and Sam kissed him back.
At Spoby's House
In Their Bedroom
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Spencer asked Toby and he laughed softly. "I think you know, because you look absolutely gorgeous." He whispered to her before kissing her cheek.
"Well you look unbelievably handsome in that suit and tie." Spencer said smirking at him. "You know that the tie is just for you." Toby said smirking back at her. "Yeah I do." She said smiling at him. "Tonight's going to be a great night, a great start to 2020." Toby said smiling softly at her. "I know it will be, but I can't help but feel a little guilty." Spencer said before looking down at the floor and Toby gently lifted her chin up with his thumb so she was looking at him again. "Hey it's okay, I'm going to miss Marion too but we're just dropping her off at Monica's for tonight, and for her and Maggie it's a bonus because your siblings are there." Toby said and Spencer nodded. "Yeah I know, you're right." She said.
"Yeah I am, and then later tonight after midnight we can come here and it'll just be the two of us." Toby said smiling at her as he stroked her cheek. "That does sound perfect." Spencer said happily. "Yes it does." Toby said before kissing her and she kissed him back and wrapped her arms around her and they kept kissing until they had to break apart for air and then she rested her forehead gently against his. "You know I wish that we didn't have to leave, but we really need to get Marion and Maggie to my grandmother's." Spencer said and Toby nodded. "Yeah of course, but there will be more of that later." He said smirking at her. "Of course." She said smiling softly at him. "Okay I'll go get our little princess and I'm pretty sure that Maggie was laying by her crib the last time I saw her." Toby said and Spencer laughed softly. "That doesn't surprise me at all, I'll go with you and finish getting Marion's things together." She said and Toby nodded and then he grabbed her hand and she smiled at him and they both walked to Marion's room.
