Chapter Fifty Nine

The next morning

At Spoby's house

In their bedroom

“Good morning my love.” Toby said smiling at Spencer before gently kissing her forehead. “Good morning handsome, how long have you been awake?” Spencer asked curiously as she tried to rub the sleep out of her eyes. “I don't know I kind of lost track of time watching my beautiful wife sleep.” Toby said laughing. “You're lucky that I think that's sweet and not creepy.” Spencer said also laughing. “Yeah I suppose I am.” Toby said smiling at her. “I really missed that you know, getting actual sleep and knowing that you were watching over me making sure I was safe.” Spencer said and Toby nodded. “I know you have babe, and I've very much missed you being in my arms like this, and I promise that nobody is ever going to take me away from you ever again.” Toby said before kissing the top of her head and she smiled up at him. “Oh I know that, and today we're going to make sure that you get the justice that you deserve.” She said and he nodded. “I know we will, we just need to find Ruby first.” Toby said before looking down and Spencer cupped his face with her hands making him look at her. “Hey, we're going to get her Tobes I promise, and my parents and Sonny are going to help us with that.” She said and Toby nodded.
“I just hope that my suspicion is right and she's still here in Port Charles, because if she isn't-” “Hey don't think like that okay I'm sure you're right because if she's as crazy as you say she is and I definitely believe you then I'm sure she's lurking around here somewhere trying to plot her next move to trap you, but I'm not going to let that happen, I promise.” “I know you won't.” Toby said smiling at her and she laughed. “And what're you smiling at?” She asked. “Nothing, I just love when you get that look of determination in your eyes, my sexy PI wife.” Toby said smirking at her and she smiled. “Well thank you for that, my hunky carpenter husband.” Spencer said smirking at him and he laughed. “Well thank you for that, now come here.” He said as he pulled her even closer to him, if that was even possible and then Spencer passionately pressed her lips against his. “You know I think we still have a lot of catching up to do with that.” Toby said smirking at her and she laughed. “A lot of catching up to do with kissing?” She asked and he nodded.

“I completely agree with you.” Spencer said smiling at him. “Well then I think we should probably do that again.” Toby said smiling at her and she nodded. “Yeah I think we should definitely do that again.” Spencer said smiling back at him before kissing her husband again. “How was that?” She asked smirking at him. “That was absolutely perfect.” Toby said smiling at her. “Good, I'm just glad that you're back home where you belong so I can kiss you whenever I want to.” Spencer said and Toby kissed the top of her head gently. “I am exactly where I need to be.” He said and Spencer smiled at him.

“I love you so much.” She said and Toby stroked her cheek with his hand gently.
“I love you too babe.” He said and then he noticed that Spencer had started crying. “Spence what's wrong?” He asked with concern in his voice. “Nothing's wrong I promise I'm really happy, it's just my hormones acting up again.” Spencer said laughing and Toby wiped her tears away. “Come here.” He smiled before gently pulling her back against his chest and he wrapped his arms around her again and He gently rubbed her stomach with his hand and Spencer smiled up at him and they just stayed like that for awhile in complete silence but it was a good, comfortable silence, and Spencer wishes moments like this so much while Toby was missing.

“You okay Tobes? You kinda seem far away right now, what're you thinking about?” Spencer asked curiously a few minutes and Toby finally looked at her and smiled. “Yeah sorry about that, it was happy thoughts though I promise, I was just thinking about you and me and how we actually made a little person.” He said happily as he continued to rub her stomach with his hand and Spencer smiled back at him and placed her hand on top of his. “Yeah, it still feels kinda unreal for me too, but in a good way.” She said. “Yeah I know exactly what you mean, I mean I was so scared that I wasn't going to get out of that house, that I was going to miss all of these moments with you and our baby, that I wasn't going to be here for any of it.” Toby said, his voice cracking at the end and when he looked down Spencer knew it was because he was crying and she immediately cupped his face in her hands and slowly lifted his head up so that he was looking at her again and she gently began wiping his tears away. “Hey it's okay, you did make it out, you're here and you're safe and you didn't miss anything important okay, and I couldn't be happier that you're going to be with me and this baby every step of the way because that's all I prayed for while you were gone was for you to come back to us in one piece because I couldn't raise our baby by myself, and I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about that because you're home.” She said giving him a small smile as tears rolled down her cheeks and Toby happily kissed the tears away.
