Meanwhile, at Chicago Med
Jay's POV: As I sat in the doctor's lounge in the Emergency Department at Chicago Med with my brother, I was worried out of my mind. I mean, what if she lost the baby because of this...would it be the end of our marriage or could we survive? What if she gave birth prematurely...I mean, she's only 5 months along. I can't believe I'm going to say this but, if we lose the baby...it wouldn't that bad would I? I mean, at least I would have Erin. God, don't think that way! Erin is your wife and the baby is what brought you back together. Well, it was more your love for her.

That's when I heard my brother come in. Looking up at him. "Dude, you have to promise me that I am not going to loose anybody. I can't loose her or the baby. If we loose the baby...my marriage is over." Will nodded and went to sit next to me. "We have her stable and the OB/GYN is currently doing an ultrasound. Now, we noticed that her energy was low...eating?" I sighed and nodded. "I was about to give her food right when she collapsed. Heck, I need to eat too." Will sighed.

"I will order you food. You stay here and relax. You want me to...." I sighed and turned to look at him. "Am I allowed to have someone else in here?" Will looked at me. "Who?" I sighed. "Hank?" Will then went to grab his phone and called Goodwin. "One minute." Will then got up and walked out of the room to give me privacy.

Will's POV: As I called Goodwin at her home office, I really hoped that I could let Voight into the ER so that he could give Jay and Erin support. I know that Jay is already here but, Hank has a special relationship with Erin that nobody really understands. Jay would love to talk to him and I need to work. "Good afternoon, Dr. Halstead. Can I help you?" I sighed and spoke to her. "Mrs. Goodwin, I know we have a strict visitors rule but...I need an exception."

Goodwin was not happy when I mentioned that. "Dr. Halstead, you know th..." I decided to tell her who before she said no. "It's Sgt. Voight. Erin is in the hospital after passing out because she was hungry. She's pregnant and my brother is going to need someone to help him get through this. I would do it but, we are already low on staff and I have a duty to my other patients as well. I know I'm already on thin water because of all the screw ups I've done in the past but, this has to be something the hospital can budge on. If we let Voight in, I can continue monitoring my other patients while someone supports my brother. We are already half-staff here. So, I need help."

I could tell that Goodwin was hesitant but understood what I meant. "That is a very good point Dr. Halstead and you are right, you are on our watch list. I also agree that you need to concentrate on your other patients since we are at half staff. Since your brother needs to have someone with him, I will allow Sgt. Voight into the ER. However, only until Erin is in the clear. He can't have any physical contact with Erin or your brother. Your brother has been isolating at home, he has been at work. If he has COVID...he needs to say away. He needs to be masked."

I understood the terms and nodded. "Of course, I will let you know when he leaves." Mrs. Goodwin then hung up and I walked back over to Jay in the room. Walking in, I looked at him. "He can come in but, there's terms. There can be absolutely no physical contact between Erin and Voight. He has been at the district, you've been isolating at home. Also, he needs to be masked and once Erin is in the clear, he has to leave the ER." Jay then looked at me and was about to argue. "Jay, I am already on thin ice here. These are the terms, non-negotiable."

Jay then sighed and nodded. "Understood. Can you be the one to tell Hank though? I would rather not have to tell him that." That's when I heard Voight walk in. "Tell me what Jay?" I turned to look at him and then sighed before grabbing him a mask. "This is mandatory while you are in the ER. Please go sit on the couch over there." Hank did as I told him to do. I then looked at him. "Okay Voight. I get you see Erin as your daughter. However, I just spoke to Goodwin and we are giving you special permissions to be in here."

Hank was about to interrupt me but, I stopped him. "Do not interrupt me. These are non-negotiable. Is that understood? You may be a police officer but, I am a doctor. Right now, we have people who are high risk here in the ER and you are a police officer, you can spread it here easily. You are to stay away from Erin because she is pregnant. You do not have physical contact with Jay or Erin while here at the hospital. You have been at the district, Jay has been at home. You must wear a mask at all times. Is that understood Sergeant?"

Hank then nodded and looked at me. "Yes Dr. Halstead." I then looked at Jay. "I will let you know when you can go in. Hank, you will also allow Jay to go in first. He is her husband and the father of the baby." Hank agreed as I walked out of the room.
