Gabby's POV: When Matt called me the love of his life, I still blushed every time he said it. However, what I really should do right now is kiss him. He seems to be waiting. "What, am I going to have to initiate the kiss?" I chuckled and smiled as I grabbed his back before going to kiss him softly. "Sorry, just took a minute to blush. No matter how many times I hear you say that, I still blush every time."
Matt nodded and agreed when I said that. "Well, it's true." I nodded and understood as we stood together. "You know, we should probably get back to baking since I want to get it done while Matteo is asleep." Matt then looked at me. "You telling me that you want me to go sit down so that you can get back to cooking?" I bit my lip and sighed. "It would be helpful. After all, you are pretty distracting." Matt smiled when I said that.
He then let me go and went to grab his beer again. "Tonight, family cuddle time on the couch by the fireplace. That's not optional. This is our last night here before the new year." I smiled when he said that because I loved the idea. I then watched him sit down on the couch and turn on the TV. "Wonder what New Year's Eve in Times Square is going to look like?" Matt then turned to look at me and shrugged. "I haven't watched it in a while."
I nodded and understood. "By the way, one day...I want to go to New York. Once, just me and you...the other time, us as a family." Matt smiled when I said that and nodded. "I'll make sure to save up so we can get a nice room that overlooks the ocean and is very romantic. Maybe a similar one to the hotel we stayed at when we started our journey back to one another." I nodded when she said that. "What hotel did we stay at anyways?"
Matt then thought about it. "I think it was either the Hilton or Four Seasons." I shrugged. "Doesn't really matter I guess. However, I am always going to remember that night. However, I am never going to forget the fact that I had to wake up alone! C'mon Matt, I wasn't just any hookup! It was me." Matt then sighed and looked at me. "Gabby, I had shift remember?" I sighed and nodded. "I could've come back to the firehouse quick anyways."
Matt nodded and agreed. "Listen, let's not fight about this. Just get those deserts in the oven. I want some time with you in my lap before the little guy wakes up. We aren't doing anything crazy tonight considering we are going to be busy tomorrow. Heck, I might just stay in the ambulance tomorrow night." I smiled when he said that. "In the front of the ambulance or the back of the ambulance?" Matt then bit his lip. "We'll see."
I nodded and understood. "Just promise that we will try to do our midnight kiss at the firehouse." Matt sighed and looked at me. "Gabby, please don't stress out about that. If we are on a call, it's not that big of a deal that we don't do it." I nodded and agreed. "Then, we'll just have a delayed one." Matt nodded. "However, we need to make sure we get out of the firehouse as soon as possible. I want to be at Antonio's when Matteo wakes up."
I nodded and agreed. "I want our faces to be the first ones he sees when he wakes up on New Year's Day 2021." I chuckled and nodded. "By the way, only 3 weeks until he's gone!" I nodded and loved that fact. He being our current president. Then, it's Hello Mrs. Vice President. "I want to watch his inauguration. I don't care if we are at the firehouse...we are putting it on." Matt nodded again and smiled. "It's a huge accomplishment for women."
I smiled and agreed once again. "Another reason I want to adopt a daughter. I want to raise a daughter together while we have a female vice-president." Matt nodded. "Would we change her name if the mom already picked it?" I then bit my lip and nodded. "I am dead set on naming our daughter Elizabeth Marie Casey. I know we should pick the name together this time around but, I hope you can understand. If you have any objections, I will understand."
Matt then shook his head and got up quickly. He then walked over to me and then wrapped his arms around me. "I have no objections whatsoever to us naming our hypothetical future daughter Elizabeth." Stepping close to me, he looked down at me before pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Gabby, I haven't asked you this but...how are you feeling about the fact that Shay isn't here experiencing this with you? As much as you love Stella and Sylvie...you must want to have Sylvie here to see you do this."
I sighed and nodded. "Is that selfish that I would want my best friend in the whole wide world to meet our son?" Matt shook his head and then held me close. "Listen, how about you finish cooking and then come cuddle up to me on the couch. We can talk about this more when we are laying down together." I nodded and agreed, deciding to drop the topic so I could get back to cooking. Meanwhile, Matt walked back over to the couch to relax again.
