Meanwhile, with Matt & Gabby

Gabby's POV: After getting a call from Chief Boden about a bad multi-car pileup, me and Matt agreed that we could go in for the shift and help out. That's when I saw Matt come out in his uniform before looking at me. "Just curious, did you call Antonio yet?" I nodded and smiled. "I did. However, they are going to stay here okay? They can use our bed. If we are going in, we might as well stay the rest of the night." Matt agreed and smiled when I said that. "So, we getting a second ambulance at the firehouse?" I nodded. "They are going to pick us up here."

Matt smiled and walked over to me as I stood in the kitchen. He then wrapped his arms around me and smiled. "If you need to talk to me at all tonight, I am here for you." I was confused why he said that. Turning around to look at him, I rubbed his chest. "What would I need to talk to you about?" Matt sighed and looked at me. "This is the first time we are going to a major pileup since we went to the one where Antonio and Matteo were in one." I bit my lip and nodded, having completely forgotten about it. I then went to grab his neck and sighed.

"Let's try and not think about that okay?" Matt nodded and agreed, kissing me softly. "I am going to change Matteo for bed okay? Then it's done. How about you make Antonio and Sylvie some bottles?" I nodded and agreed until I heard the door. "Can you get that? I am going to start the bottles. Send Sylvie in and I can show her in case I don't make enough." Matt smiled and nodded as he walked away to go to the door. He then opened it and smiled when he saw Antonio. "Thanks for coming. Seems like the weather took a bad turn since we last saw you."

Sylvie nodded and chuckled before walking in. "Where am I staying tonight? I want to set my stuff down and get in my PJs since we aren't going out again." I chuckled when she said that. "You and Antonio can stay in our room. I just changed the sheets." Matt then turned to look at me. "What?" I glared at him and then pointed to Sylvie. "You are not making our sister-in-law sleep on the pullout couch when she is almost 5 months pregnant with twins. And if you do, you can sleep on the bunks outside in the common area and I will sleep in the PIC's bedroom."

Matt nodded and then looked at Antonio. "Here, let me take your bags to our bedroom." Antonio then gave them to him when Matt walked away to go put them away. Antonio then walked over to me and smiled. "You ready for your last shift of 2020?" I sighed. "About that. I need you and Sylvie to watch him on New Year's Eve. Me and Matt are working that night. They are doubling up on Ambulances because we are not just going to a central location. There are probably going to be parties all over the city. They want each house to double up on paramedics."

Antonio nodded and sighed. "I'm working that night but, I'll talk to Eva okay?" I looked at him and was confused. "Why are you working on New Year's Eve?" Antonio sighed. "I am working on patrol that night. All CPD Officers are going to be out in order to enforce the stay-at-home order. Nobody can be out." I nodded and understood. "Okay then. But listen, we need to get going." Antonio nodded and smiled before going to hug me. "Stay safe, I don't need you getting this."

I nodded and smiled before feeling Matt's had on my back. "Trust me, I am going to make sure to keep my girl safe." I then felt his lips on my forehead before rubbing his chest. "We better get going. Now, we aren't wearing masks in the firehouse. Everybody gets tested there right?" Matt nodded and smiled. "They are supposed to. Now, we need to get going so...see you tomorrow." I turned to look at him. "Let's say goodbye to Matteo and then we can go."

Matt agreed and then walked with me to Matteo's bedroom. Walking in, I smiled as I saw him sleeping in his crib. "Sweet dreams buddy." I then bent down and kissed his head. Matt then went to do the same and smiled before wrapping his arms around me. He then kissed my head and smiled. "We'll be back to put him to bed tomorrow. We work 24 hours remember?" I nodded. "Weird though because our shift is going to start at night."

Matt chuckled and grabbed my hand before intertwining our fingers. He then led me out to the table and went to grab his jacket. "We should be back tomorrow night. It's a 24 hour shift." Sylvie nodded and agreed. "Say hi to Gianna for me." I nodded and smiled. "I think she's working with Noah Valdez tonight. We are getting 2 ambos at the place since it's going to be busy." Sylvie nodded and smiled. "Stay safe." We both agreed and then smiled as we walked out of the apartment to go to work.
