Chapter 1018

Gabby's POV: After getting changed to join Matt in bed, I came back to see him relaxing with the ice pack on his shoulder. That's when I went to set my clothes down in the hamper before opening the covers. Matt then opened his eyes when he felt me get in. "Hey, how about you come close to me. I want to talk. Something's bothering you." I nodded and sighed as I moved close to him before laying down against his chest, putting my arm across him. Matt then put his hand on my arm and rubbed it. "Gabby, what's wrong babe?"

"It's about what you said out there remember? The massage part. I feel bad that I keep mentioning stuff about what happened during the pregnancy when you weren't part of it. I feel like I'm hurting you whenever I mention it because we both know that you would've rather experienced all of it first hand. Matt, that is one of my biggest regrets." Matt nodded and then wrapped his arm around my back before kissing my head. "Gabby, it's okay."

I then looked up at him, confused. "Why is it okay Matt? Would you not have wanted to be part of the pregnancy?" Matt bit his lip and sighed. "Gabby, had you been around...I don't even know whether we would have Matteo right now. That's why you shouldn't feel guilty. Gabby, you did the right thing in this case." I then moved to lay my head down again and just listened to him. "Had you not done all this for me, I wouldn't be your husband right now."

I agreed and then moved to kiss him softly. "I love you Matt and I am so glad you are my husband, there is nobody else for me." Matt smiled when I said that. "And there is nobody else I would rather go through life together with. Gabby, we both know that Matteo is not the reason we are back together. We are back together because we love each other. Matteo was just the most adorable baby that started the 9 month journey of us getting back together forever."

I smiled when he said that before moving to kiss him softly again. "Can I ask you a hypothetical question?" Matt nodded. "Had I came back and said that I was home for good...but still wanted to try for a baby? Would you have supported it?" Matt bit his lip and sighed. "I would've taken you back but, we would've had a bigger conversation about it. I think we would've explored all of our options rather than just you getting pregnant yourself. Surrogacy most importantly."

I nodded and agreed before rubbing his chest. "I am just glad that we would've ended up back together in any situation that involved me coming back to Chicago permanently." Matt smiled when I said that. "Of course, that is only assuming that you didn't bring a boyfriend back, or that I wasn't engaged again." That surprised me. "You thought that you might propose to Sylvie if you were together?" I then backed up and looked at him.

"Hey, no...of course not. I am not talking about this soon. Gabby, you came back literally 2 years after we divorced...not even. Trust me that I would've never even been engaged at the time. That was too short. It took me at least 6 months to get over you. And 18 months is not enough time to date and get engaged. Well, not after just getting divorced." I nodded and got close to Matt again, cuddling up to him. "Gabby, you are my one and only, I promise."

I nodded and smiled as we held each other close. I then felt Matt kiss my forehead softly when I saw Matteo start to doze off in his crib. "He's asleep." Matt nodded and smiled as he turned his head and bent down to kiss me softly. "I love you." I smiled when he said that and then moved to rub his chest under his shirt. "You know what I am thinking about right now?" Matt chuckled and smiled. "Not yet okay? Plus, he is right there." I nodded and agreed before rubbing his chest.

"You know, we could put him in the nursery and get close with you wearing protection?" Matt chuckled and nodded before rubbing my arm. "Very true. Would you like me to do that for you?" I shook my head. "You get protection on. When I come back, I want to just get in bed with you." Matt smiled and nodded as he bent down to kiss me softly. "Don't be long." I nodded and then smiled as I got up and went to grab Matteo. "C'mon buddy, let's go put you in your crib."

I then walked away to put Matteo in his nursery so that me and Matt could get close in bed.
