"How did you know that Mouse is returning to the unit?"

Jay's POV: When Hank asked me how I knew that Mouse was returning to the unit, he must've forgotten the fact that me and him are best friends from when we were in Afghanistan together. We still talk a lot and recently, we've wanted to get together (virtually) since he just got back from another tour. I just hoped that the current tour he was just on was going to be his last tour. I want him to be around for when I have kids. I need to prove to him that I can do it.

"Hank, he's my best friend from Afghanistan. I've known him longer than you've known him. In fact, I was the one that got him the job at the CPD in the first place." Hank nodded and smiled when I said that. "Well, we are happy to have him back. He will be reporting to you. He's helping with the tech aspects of undercover operations so...since you are Deputy Head for Undercover Operations, you're his superior." I nodded and smiled. "Yes, because Mouse is going to me the Asst. Deputy Head of Intelligence for Undercover Operations-Surveillance."

Hank smiled when I recommended that title. "Good title. Where do you come up with these things?" I chuckled. "Because in Afghanistan he was the Head of Intelligence for Covert Operations-Enemy Intelligence and Surveillance. So, I just added assistant deputy and changed 'covert' to 'undercover' and removed 'enemy intelligence' from the title." Hank nodded and agreed. "I like the title and will definitely get it instated." Erin smiled when he said that and then looked at me. "You going to work out because if you aren't, don't get those clothes dirty."

I nodded. "I'm going. However, we need to do a load after." Erin and Hank both glared at me when I said 'we'. I sighed. "Of course I mean me. However, Erin can still help fold the laundry after. Have to give her something to do or else she's going to go crazy sitting in bed all day." Erin nodded and smiled. "See Hank, he's the perfect husband." I laughed and smiled when she said that. I then walked over to her and grabbed her hand. "Be back later. Hank, the kitchen's stocked with food. If you think anything is wrong, call me ASAP. I have my phone." Erin sighed. "Jay..."

I sighed. "Erin, I am not going back to the hospital again. I want to be able to prevent that by helping you. I felt so helpless a couple days ago. So, don't make me feel that way again. Erin, I love you and don't want to see you in a hospital bed again until at least May. Or, whenever you plan on scheduling your C-Section. I know that's what you're planning." Erin sighed and nodded. "Yes, because that way you can leave sooner. And it's a lot easier than going through labour. COVID is already stressful enough, don't need to worry about labour."

I nodded and agreed. "Erin, we will do whatever you want when it comes to giving birth. However, we are going to also follow doctor's orders. Hank, I told my brother to update me when the policy on number of people at the birth changes so...I will let you know okay? However, as far as I know...right now, only the father is allowed to be at the hospital." Hank smiled when I said that. "You are actually trying to get me there when she's giving birth?" I nodded. "You really think that Erin is going to be comfortable with just me there?"

Erin laughed and smiled. "See Hank, this is why he is a great husband...he knows me so well." Hank nodded and agreed. "Yes, now be a good husband and go workout so that Erin and me can talk!" I nodded and then walked away to go workout.

Erin's POV: Once Jay left to go workout, I turned to look at Hank and smiled. "So, how have you been?" Hank smiled when I said that. "I've been better. Still really worried. I mean, I haven't been able to see you until today and still haven't seen Daniel in a while." I nodded and sighed while going to grab his hand. "Hank, it will get better soon." He agreed and smiled. "And soon, you are going to be a mom. You still in disbelief about it?"

I smiled and shook my head. "Nope. Hank, this is all part of my dream. You know I've always wanted to come back to Chicago. And you also know that I've always loved Jay. All this happening now, regardless of COVID just seems so right. I mean, I have the man of my dreams, the job of my dreams and this baby. That is something I never expected." Hank smiled when I said that and nodded. "What about me?"

I smiled when he said that. "I've always had you Hank. You were the only one that I could talk to while I was in New York." Hank nodded. "How was it in New York anyways...finding out you were pregnant right before you called me?" I bit my lip and nodded. "It happened while I was out with Benson and Rollins from Manhattan's Special Victims Unit." Hank nodded and smiled. "So, they know you're pregnant." I nodded. "Benson was the one that gave me the advice to come back."

Hank smiled when I said that. "Let me guess, Benson was your equivalent of me while you were in New York City?" I nodded and smiled. "She helped me a lot. Especially when it came to dealing with some joint FBI-SVU cases. They were hard on me. I haven't told Jay this but...I still get up sometimes in the middle of the night after getting bad dreams about some of the cases I've worked there. God, you think Nadia's murder was bad...try having to find a victim stuffed in a garbage bin with her baby ripped out of her and her stomach wide open."

I then teared up and put my hand on her stomach since I was realizing that this was getting too close to home. Hank then moved closer to me and wrapped his arm around her. "How about some happier cases?" I sighed and nodded before looking up at him. "Hank, it's SVU...not the easiest cases. The best case was simple rapes. And that's till hard because women were being taken advantage of. It brought back memories of when I was a kid."

Hank nodded and sighed. "Why didn't you call me? I would've talked to Benson and she probably could've talked to her boss and get you changed to intelligence there." I looked up at him. "Hank, I probably worked 1-2 cases with them. I was always in Intelligence. By the way, I heard something that you were there 2 years ago for the 9/11 memorial?" Hank bit his lip and sighed. I then moved to punch him. "Why didn't you come say hi to me?"

Hank chuckled. "I tried but, they said you were on an undercover mission and understood. "Still, you could've stayed at my place. Those hotels in downtown Manhattan are so expensive for one night. I mean, seriously...$1000 just to stay close to the financial district and One World Trade Center." Hank nodded and agreed. "I know, it's ridiculous." I smiled when he said that. "You ever go to One World Trade Center Erin?"

I sighed when he asked that. "I did. But, I left pretty much right after. It was too hard." Hank was confused when I said that. "Erin, did you have someone in your family die on 9/11 or at war?"
