Now both sitting beside each other, the twins were finally happy. A sudden tap on Izuku's shoulder interrupted their heartfelt conversation. "Um, thank you for saving me back at the entrance exam..." A female, of petite but cute built with short brown hair that sculpted her round face, gave her words of gratitude to him while she fumbles her fingers on the hems of her uniform.
[y/n] looked at her with a curious expression and said, "Oh, you must be Uraraka-san! Izu-chan and I were just talking about you."
The brown-haired girl stuttered an "E-eh?" and her cheeks flushed.
"Don't worry, it's nothing bad! In fact, he was thankful he met you on the practical exam." She grinned with aspiration as she stared at her twin, who is covering himself with the uniform jacket.
"By the way, I forgot to introduce myself, but yeah I'm Izu-chan's younger twin, [y/n]!" She offers her hand for a friendly handshake and became friends with her from then on.
"Woah... you two are exactly alike in so many ways... like even the energy you guys give off... it's amazing..." Uraraka mumbles under her breath which [y/n] still managed to hear.
"Hehe yeah, we've been told that a lot, but we are also different in many ways, though. Apart from our gender and first name, that is." [y/n] rubs the back of her neck as she replies shyly.
"Deku, [y/n]! Why are you two here? I told Deku to not come here! And you... what brings you here from that damned foreign land?" A screeching annoyed voice echoed throughout the classroom as Bakugo makes his way to the twins. [y/n] and Izuku tried their best to hide their surprised expressions as they heard the familiar voice.
"Eh [y/n], did you finally forget how to speak in your mother tongue? Sucks to be you, foreigner!" He continues to lash out at both of them, but they stood their ground in silence until [y/n] finally approaches him with her head held high.
She's in front of Bakugo now, noticing how he was taller by a few centimeters apart. While clenching her fist, she retorted, "If you have nothing else that is nice to say to me and to my brother, then I see no reason for you to continue the path of a hero you longed for since speaking in a sharp tongue is not a heroic act."
"Huuuuuh? A heroic act, my ass. Actions speak louder than words, and you both know it, nerds!" Trying to intimidate the twins, he shows off his smug face while looking down on [y/n] (literally, since he is taller than her but anyways).
"It's true, actions do speak louder than words. Then do you mind if I... tell the entire class what you did to us?" She faces her other classmates as everyone has their eyes on the two, silently witnessing the calm before the storm.
[y/n] faces Bakugo, whose lips are now pursed together like it was tightly sealed with glue while he grits his teeth. "Don't you f*cking dare... I know what is about to come out of your dirty mouth, so do not even bother in saying it!"
"Oh, what if I want to say it... I only called you that once, though. It was a cute nickname, indeed." Her arms were crossed as she displays a pout in front of him, which caught him off guard.
"Isn't it, Baku-chan?" She smiled devilishly, a sight that was new to her own twin brother who is now dumbfounded. Whether this was the same person he used to protect when they were younger, and what had happened during those times they were separated.
"Sh-shut up, nerdy b*itch!"
"You stuttered, does that mean you like it? Oh well..." She trails off her sentence again as she goes back to her seat beside Izuku with no intentions to listen to more of Bakugo's loud rants and he was held off by his other classmates.
"By the way, Izu-chan. I may not know how you were able to activate your quirk from slumber nor have an idea what your quirk is, but I am proud of you, even if... you know... back then and all..." She trailed off the last bits of her sentence purposely as she noticed Izuku seemed shocked but relieved as she finished her sentence.
Are we not gonna talk about how there was something off about you, [y/n]? Izuku thought, which [y/n] misunderstood the expression on his face.
"But still, Izu-chan. Back then, you are still the hero as I see today, and that will never change." She pats her twin's back as she showed him an encouraging smile.
-
The first period was Homeroom, but not a single teacher was in sight until-
"Is that a big yellow cocoon on the floor? How long has it been there?" Asked one of the students with a ponytail.
Then, the so-called yellow cocoon began moving towards the podium in front of the blackboard, unzipping itself reveals a long raven-haired man with tired eyes while sipping on a strawberry-flavored juice box.
"The yellow cocoon is your Homeroom adviser. Call me Aizawa Sensei." He was finally free from the sleeping bag as he spoke his first words to the class.
He instructs the class to wear their gym uniforms and go outside.
"We are here for a physical test to see and for me to evaluate your quirks, and to see what initiatives have you used to utilize them." He stands in front of class 1-A, scanning each and every student before he says something again.
"After finishing the physical test, everyone will be ranked according to your total scores from the test..."
"Whoever is in the last place..." As soon as Izuku heard it, his heart began beating faster, his anxiety and worry began kicking in.
"... will never be able to step foot into the UA Academy ever again."
"What? That is impossible..." A chorus of sighs, complaints, and dismay was heard right after Aizawa Sensei gave his little speech.
[y/n] noticed how silent her twin was, instead of reassuring him, she was observing his behavior and body language.
Slouching, hmm... must be a sign he is losing self-confidence.
His toes are pointing against each other, too. Is he hiding something from everyone... and to me? Or is he scared he might be the last in the ranks...?
He... is not looking or staring at everyone, even to me, just looking down... he must be in deep thought, too.
His arms..... his hands are clasped together, he must be trying to get a hold of himself...
Oh no... he is muttering... I guess old habits never die...
Finally, [y/n] got the courage to approach her twin to cheer him up just a little bit. "Izu-chan. I'm rooting for you! You can do it!" Nonetheless, she was honestly cringing at what she said to him but is still hoping it would help him calm down.
What the heck, [y/n]?
'I'm rooting for you!'?... 'You can do it!'?
What are you, a kindergartner?
You know more words than those, idiot!
"But, [y/n]... I still can't completely control my quirk... what if-"
"Nonsense! Just trust yourself, okay? It's understandable you don't have complete control over it yet, and that is okay Izu-chan..." She cuts off his sentence as she hates hearing anything that is unlikely from her twin brother, which is speaking negatively.
"[y/n]... looks like our roles have reversed, huh?" Izuku chuckled as he took [y/n]'s words to heart.
"What roles are you ta-"
"Alright. Before we begin, I would like to have Katsuki Bakugo come forward over here." As soon as the teacher spoke up, silence came along.
