[CH. 40]: Rescue Training Race

"A rescue training race!"

Iida raised his hand as he asked the pro hero, "Shouldn't rescue training be conducted at USJ?"

All Might replied, facing him, "That place is for disaster-related rescues in particular... but what did I say? That's right, a race. This is Ground Gamma!..."

As he continued, he explained how the race will be, saying that he would hide somewhere inside as he sends a distress signal, and it's a race on who gets to reach him first.

He then pointed out as he looked at someone in particular, "Naturally, keep the destruction of property to a minimum!" 

Bakugo looked away, "Stop pointing at me."

[y/n] nudged Izuku's shoulder as she grinned, "Hey, you go first. I wanna see everyone's faces when they see you in action." 

With a nod, he moved forward.

Uraraka noticed, "[y/n], why didn't you go with your brother?" 

[y/n] replied with a smug, "It's a secret... and a surprise." 

"Okay...?"

"Don't act too cocky," Bakugo growled at her. 

[y/n] scoffed, "Oh, come on. Do you have to include yourself in a conversation you aren't part of? So much for wanting to be on top..."

"What the hell are you saying?" 

"Nothing, kacchan. I just wanna see you riled up for no reason."

She continues as she sarcastically spoke, "Besides, I kinda miss you..." 

"Did you just call me-" 

"Yes, is there a problem?" 

"Quit it with that, I know you don't even mean it! Are you a psychopath or what?"

She hummed with a relaxed expression as she looked at the giant screen with the others, "Maybe I am... maybe I'm not... it depends on how you see me... and how you wanna see me as." 

"Stop beating around the bush!" 

She finally ignored him as she does her 'in deep pose' as Uraraka spoke up as she sweatdropped, "Wow, Bakugo sure isn't in the mood for today." 

[y/n] scoffed, "Maybe it was because he was told off by someone he sees as his idol, I'd be in the same plight if that happens to me."

Uraraka's face lit up, "Oh, right! What do you mean a secret and a surprise?" 

[y/n] smirked as she looked at the giant monitors in front of them, "You'll see... the key operative will be my brother." 

"What?" 

"Don't worry, it'll be a good surprise." She reassures her with a smile.

She hummed again, "It seems Iida is going, too." 

Uraraka nods beside her, "Yeah..."

As everyone bets Izuku to arrive last, [y/n] stood in silence with a distinguished smile, "Just wait and see."

Asui noticed her unusual demeanor, "[y/n] why are you smiling when they're betting low on your twin brother? Are you alright with that?" 

She then faced her with an eye-closed grin, "It's the perfect time to prove people wrong, Tsuyu-chan." 

"I see, so Izuku has something on his sleeve, huh?" 

[y/n] nodded as she turned her attention back to the monitors.
