"We see the loose dog." Adam goes over the air.

"I'll go get something from that store." Kim says as she runs over. Adam starts chasing the dog.

"Moving Northbound towards the park." Adam updates his location as he keeps running to keep an eye on the dog.

Kim rummages through the store to find any dog treats but then just settles on some beef jerky and throws money and runs.

She runs all the way to the park to see Adam standing and talking to someone with the dog.

"Ruzek?" Kim says breathless as she jogs over.

"Hey. This guy caught the......."

"Y/n?"

"Hey Kimmie." You wave as you pet the dog. "Doesn't like his paws or ears touched. So this is the drug dog?"

"Yea." Kim says just completely surprised to see you again.

"You know him?"

"Ohhh yea. I'm sorry I'm Y/n Ramirez. Grew up with Kim and Kevin. Basically Kevin's little brother. Kevin's mom adopted me at a young age." You tell Adam as you take your shirt off and use it as a leash for the dog.

"You're the new guy. Welcome to Intelligent." You stand up and Adam reaches to shake your hand but the dog growls. "Nevermind."

You laugh while Kim just stares at you shirtless.

"Alright I'll meet you two at the station. Kimmie?" She makes eye contact. "I'll take the jerky off your hands." You reach for it and the dog doesn't growl as she hands it to you.

"Ohh come on is it just me?" Adam complains as they start walking away. You get in a nearby car as they walk to their car. "You grew up with him?"

"Yea. Uhmm known each other since we were like 9."

"He seems cool. He tamed that dog so easily....." Adam keeps going on about how you got the dog. At the station you walk in and you are at the desk talking to Platt with the dog laying at your feet.

"Thank you Trudy. Mind buzzing me up." She hands you a shirt and pats your hand. You start walking to the stairs with the dog.

"No problem kiddo and sure thing." She buzzes you up and you walk up.

"Whoa who are you?" Dante says. "And why are you shirtless and....... Ohhh shit you have the dog you gotta be the new guy."

Hailey waves at you and you wink. Kevin comes flying around the corner and tackles you in a hug.

"Bro how have you been? Fuck I haven't seen you in years."

"Kevin you saw me on the 4th of July and Juneteenth." He keeps hugging you. You hear the gate slam meaning Kim and Adam should be back.

"We got so much catching up to do." You laugh at his giddiness. "When did yo ass get so damn swole?"

You roll your eyes but look to Kim as she enters. Quickly you throw on your shirt. She walks right pass you and you can't help but think you did something wrong.

You just let it be for the time being. Spending the time meeting the rest of the team.

Couple of months have pasted. You and Kim are cool once again. She never said why she was upset with you but you didn't want to push it.

Currently you and Hailee are working midnights for OT. Just a few days to fill in. You two learned quickly that you work a quiet beat. Odd for Chicago but it was.
