Player - Hailey Van Lith

Hailey jogs out of the locker room for this random summer scrimmage. It's so the whole team gets to know each other.

She stops once she sees this gorgeous girl on the court. She catches the ball thrown to her but dribbles it over to Angel.

"Who is that?" Hailey gestures across the court near Flau'jae.

"Who?" Angel looks around. Then lands her eyes on you. She smirks. "Ohhh you mean Y/n?"

"That's her name?"

"Yea. She got you starstruck." You hit a three even with Poa all up in your face. Hailey shakes her head and looks back at Angel.

"Nah. Just wondering who the newbie is." She tries to play off.

"That's crazy because she was asking when All-American was going to get here."

"You are a li......"

"Hey All American." The new girl waves in her direction. "Like my team choice of jerseys?" Your team starts taking off their hoodies revealing the Louisville jerseys. You sporting number 10.

Angel and some of the other girls laugh as you all reveal the jerseys finally.

"You look good sporting my number."

"Uhm don't flatter yourself."

"But you want to be me so bad." Hailey teases back.

"Remember that when I catch those ankles later." You wink at her then turn and hit another 3. Ohhh you meant business.

Hailey keeps staring in your direction. Angel hits her shoulder.

"Close your mouth your drooling." Hailey does and wipes her bottom lip. She couldn't help it. Those shorts were working for you.

"I was not." She denies.

20 minutes later the scrimmage starts up. Angel and Kent do jump ball. Kent winning so the ball lands in your hands.

You decide to make this a statement that you deserve to be here. You dribble to the logo and pull up. Straight through the net and Hailey is speechless.

Hailey goes down and claps back and you realize you should play defense on her. The game is good. Yet you were unstoppable. Assist to Flau'jae or down low for the post player was crazy. You did a smooth behind the back and through the defenders legs pass.

It look like you were playing street ball for fun right now.

You hit another 3 on Sa'Myah.

"Too Easy!" You yell as you jog back on defense. At the end of the scrimmage the score is 110-77. You ran the score up however you could. At one point the other team didn't score for 2 minutes straight.

"Okay ladies we have some work to do, but that's a good dry run. Make sure you all bond and get to know one another. Yet I would like to welcome our newest members to the team." Mulkey motions for all the new people to come up front.

Everyone introduces themselves until it gets to you. Mulkey hugs you into her side and introduce you.

"Y/n Russell." You wave at everyone. Then offer your hands to Hailey.

"Hi I'm Van Lith." You tease and show her the back of your jersey.

"Hi Van Lith I'm Russell." She jokes back. Mulkey then notices that you two are wearing each other jerseys. The only thing is you are wearing Hailey's former team.

Quickly they notice you are going to be the jokester of the team.

Over the next few weeks team bonding has been good. First was out to dinner. Another was to the arcade. Another to the Escape room, bowling, and some community work.
