Chapter 17
The plane was able to leave early the next morning, they arrived at San Antonio around 10 am. "The car and driver I ordered is waiting at the side gate."
"Dad, I think we should have brought more men with us. It is a big city, and I don't think we can find her that easy."
"Drew, the rogues are being a problem we can't afford to take men from the pack right now. By all rights I shouldn't be here, but you're my son and I want to help you."
"I got it, Dad. I don't want to lose her."
"Give the man the address so we can start looking for her."
When they arrived at the address it became obvious this address wasn't going to be as much help as they thought, it was just a coffee shop. "We need to spread out and see if anyone has seen her."
"Not yet, Drew. Eric, go inside and see if anyone recognizes her. She might come here regularly."
It doesn't take long for Eric to come back to them. His father looks at the coffee wondering why he bought it. Eric seeing him staring at the cups shrugs his shoulders. "I bought the coffee so they would relax and talk to me easier. It didn't help though, no one here recognized her. I asked about cameras, they said they were down for the last week."
"Now what, Dad? There is only four of us, there is no way we can find her."
"Drew, stop acting like this. We won't find her if you act defeated. We each have pictures of her, each one of us will take a block then meet back here. Check all the hotels she had to be sleeping somewhere."
"Alpha, it might be easier if we worked in pairs. One on each side of the street instead of back and forth."
"Fine, Michael, the two boys go together, and you will come with me."
At one in the afternoon Eric gets a whiff of her scent. "Drew, come to the intersection on fourth and main, I can smell her. I think it is her, come and see for yourself."
Drew ran over praying it is her. 'That is mate she is here.' Boomer was up, wagging his tail for the fist time since they left Melody at the resort. "That's her scent, it seems stronger then it was when we mated. Mind link your dad I am going to try and follow it."
'We find mate. I'm not waiting.' Drew found himself running down the street with Eric yelling for him to stop.
"Dad, Alpha Kevin, we caught a whiff of her scent. Drew is chasing it down we should be three blocks over from where we separated."
"Keep going we will catch up as soon as we can." Alpha Kevin starts running. "We might have found her, Michael."
"I hope so, Alpha."
'Mate's scent is getting weaker. I can't find it anymore.'
'We are closer to her, she can't be that far away from us. Can't you feel how our hearts feel warmer.'
'Yes, it is warmer, I want mate, Drew.'
'I want her too. This time when we get her home, we will tie her to the bed and keep her with us.' Boomer slumps and lays down back to feeling bad.
"Drew, did you find her?" Alpha Kevin asks, short of breath when he catches up.
"We lost her scent." Drew kicks the gravel pissed he lost her. "I swear when we find her, she is never leaving the house. I am not going through this again."
"Relax, Son, we have come this far we will find her."
"Can a wolf's smell change? Boomer and I remember how she smelt when we mated, this time it is much stronger."
