Chapter 29

Anthony was sitting in his office doing paperwork when the phone rang. "Hello, Silver Lake Pack."

"Long time no talk, buddy." Anthony gripped the phone so tight his knuckles turned white.

"Drew, what has you calling me?"

"I am taking over the pack and wanted you to come celebrate with me. It is going to be one hell of a blast."

Knowing he has to play it cool, Anthony makes it sound like nothing is wrong. "Man, that would have been great, but my mate is pregnant, I can't leave her right now."

"Wow, that is great news. I didn't know you found your mate."

"She is great, I couldn't be happier. How are you doing?"

"I found my mate too."

Hearing this Anthony thinks he is up to something. Worried, he knows Melody is there. "You turned out as lucky as I am."

"Not quite, somehow I lost her."

"I'm sorry to hear that. What happened to her?"

"I don't want to talk about it. Just know when I find her, she will never leave me again."

"Find her?" A wave of relief flood Anthony, he doesn't know she is here. "I thought she died or something. Now you have to explain this to me."

"I had to reject her. She was not good enough to be my pack's Luna. There was no way they would of accepted her. She is beautiful and has some hell of a body. I took her to bed knowing I couldn't mark her, that was hard. My wolf wanted to mark her so bad."

"You not marking her, is that why she left?"

"Nah, I had this plan so I could keep her with me. You know a side piece. I would of picked out a Luna the pack liked and still kept her as my little secret."

"Drew that was one hell of a plan, man."

"I thought with the bond she would never leave me, but I was wrong. She took off and I haven't been able to find her, it has been three months already."

"I wish you luck in finding her. You can at least pick out your Luna."

"I have someone in mind just not sure if I am ready yet. Not since the rejection thing. Taking the next step is not that big of a deal. Maybe after I become the Alpha of the pack I'll mark someone. For now, I am having a ball, all she-wolves want an alpha for a mate."

"I hope it all goes well for you. I become the Alpha of this pack in two days, and it is crazy busy around here. You and I will have to catch up later on." Anthony hangs up relieved he doesn't know she is there.

'You ever go see that sick fucker. You are going to have to get a new wolf.'

'You know me better than that, Rocky. I love our mate.'

'I don't like him, and he has to stay away from her. You can hear it in the way he talked. He is going to hurt her."

'I know, you and I will keep her safe. I am going to tell Dad and Uncle Charley about the call, they will help us keep her safe.'

"What is the emergency, Son?" His dad asks, as him and Charley sit in the chairs across from Anthony.

"I got a phone call from Drew, the Skyline Pack's new Alpha. Well, he will be this weekend."

Charley sat up more interested in what he had to say. "What did he want? Does he know she is here?"

"He is still looking, she is safe here. He is throwing a party for becoming the alpha of his pack and wanted me to come and celebrate with him."
