Chapter 86

Kevin needed information and it wouldn't hurt if he pushed a few of Anthony's buttons.. "Anthony, I have seen Melody a good amount of time since I have been here. I would like to ask you a few questions."

Anthony was beyond tired of the four of them and bit his tongue to stay polite. "What is it that you want to know?"

"When Melody got here did you know she had a mate already?"

"When I saw her our mate bond was strong, so strong we marked each other the same day."

"That isn't what I asked."

"Alpha Kevin, Melody told me everything before we marked each other. There were no secrets between us and never will be. The answer is yes, I knew I was her second chance mate."

"Did you also know she carried her first mate's pups?"

"They are not his anymore they are mine. The second we marked each other they bonded with me, and I claim them as mine, because they are mine. Let one male tell me they aren't, and they will find themselves laid out on the ground if not under the ground."

"You didn't see a mark on her that day. Her first mate must of marked her."

Anthony was close to losing his temper. "She didn't have a mark. Her first mate was stupid enough to not take the time to see what he had and threw her away."

"Is it normal to steel another pack's member without informing the Alpha of the pack?"

"No one stole her, you know that. I don't know why you are asking these questions, but I was the one that picked her up at a truck stop. After two days she told me what happened to her. I called my brother; he allowed her to join our pack. All she asked for was a life with love and without tears. Not a lot to ask for do you think, Alpha Kevin?" Charley has as little patience for these questions as Anthony.

"It is a request many wolves never get in life. How long after her rejection did you mark her?"

"A month. Why all the questions?"

"I was curious that is all. Do you think you can make her happy? I see her some days and she is visibly stressed and unhappy."

"I know she is happy with our lives and that she was not happy before. The work she does is stressful and can make her sad. Other wolves being sick is enough to make anyone upset."

"One more question. Didn't any of you think to inform the Alpha of her pack that you had her?"

Charley got in his face. "Why should we? Your pack hurt her continuously without one bit of concern for her wellbeing. Tell me why anyone should have cared about the feelings of an Alpha that didn't care enough to protect her or care for her in any way?" Charley was glaring at Kevin, if he could, he would rip him apart right this second.

Drew got in Charley's way to keep him from his father. Anthony wasn't letting his uncle get hurt and pushed his chest into Drew. "Anthony, watch how your pack speak to my father."

"Drew, it is fine." Kevin put his hand on his son's chest. "I understand his anger and accept the fact I was in the wrong. I have told Melody the same thing. I had failed her in the past and I was not going to fail her now. If I thought you and your pack were using her I would of taken her home with me. I see she is safe here so I will not interfere."

Anthony still hasn't moved. "I would protect her with my life. You have no right to question me or say you would take her from us."

"Werewolf laws are funny, never say someone has no right. I will not interfere in her life or yours."
