Chapter 58

"It took you long enough to call. Let me put this on speaker." Drew hit the button. "Eric, get back here it is your dad."

"Hey, Dad. What did you find out?"

"There is a lot going on. I went to see her before the concert, after we talked. I can tell you she is never going to come back on her own."

"What? So, you mean she's never coming back on her own?" Drew is even more pissed now.

"Melody has one hell of a life. I told you she played the piano, she's a famous concert pianist, the concert was sold-out. When she saw me in the audience she sang to me. It was one of Laurie's favorite opera songs. Damn her eyes were glued to mine. The song was about how happy and in love she is in."

"I remember her singing. She had a beautiful voice. Her and her mother practiced all the time. I never knew she could sing Opera." Eric rubbed the back of his head. "You hated her singing."

Drew asked, "Why did she stop?"

"It was my fault like Eric said I couldn't stand to know she was happy. When she sang it brought back memories of her and Laurie. It made me nuts. Matter of fact I forbid her to play any instruments either. I thew them all out."

"That was a dick move even for you, Michael. When we get her back, she is going to play and sing for me. Her true mate."

"You're right I am a selfish prick; I should want her to be happy. All I want is her to come back where she belongs. You should have her play the violin for you, Drew. She played it here, everyone was applauding and screaming out her name. So many people want her."

Drew growled. "Are you telling me you are having second thoughts? If you are, I am telling you I will come for her without your help, you will live the rest of your life alone and without a pack."

"Don't threaten me. I am her father. That gives me the right to be proud of what she has done. I hate the fact she did it without any of us and found this life that doesn't let us in. She belongs home, I never thought of my daughter being somebody. For so many years she was nobody. You don't have a thing to worry about. I am with you."

Boomer took over growling at Michael. "Bring mate home. I want her in my arms." Drew shook his head, taking back control. "You heard, Boomer. She will be my Luna, even if I have to have guards on her and chain her to me. She will not leave me or this pack. If I have my way, she will be pregnant all the time. I am going to make her have my pups until she can't make them anymore. It will be her punishment for having another male's pups for him."

"After I tell you what she did the next day, you will understand why we are going to have a hard time getting our hands on her. Melody was welcomed at a councilman's house they hugged her. One of the guards told me she's the doctor treating Councilman Mitchel's cancer. He was bedridden until she treated him and now, he is standing. They are all praising her."

There was a sudden gasp from Drew. "What about my dad? Do you think she could help him?"

"I'm not a doctor. She has gone home to her pack. The councilman is there now; he had to finish some treatment or something. I followed them as far as I could. They are not going to let me in the pack. I won't even try to get in with all of the guards that came with him."

"There isn't much more you can do there, are you coming home?"

"I'm going to stay here a little longer. I might be able to get in after the councilman leaves. I could try to get to talk to her again. If anything else, I might be able to find a hole in their security."

"I almost forgot, Dad. We sent Bonnie to talk to Melody. She is supposed to talk her into coming home. If she drives at a decent speed she should be there soon. Keep an eye out for her."

"Why send her here?"

"They are best friends, if anyone can do it, it would be her."

"She didn't like us much. I don't know why she would help us now."

"Bonnie said she would do it."

"I guess things changed, she told us the day Melody left she hoped she never came back, and we all suffered for what we did."

Drew stepped in. "I know what she said, but she said she missed her and would talk to her for us."

"I finally asked her out on a date, I even mentioned that when Melody became Luna she could be the female Beta. Bonnie said when she got back, we could talk about it."

"That is good news, Son. I know how you feel about her."

Michael found a good hiding place near the entrance to the Silver Lake Pack. He watched them carefully seeing the councilman coming and leaving. He had been there for ten days and still hadn't seen any sign of Bonnie. He called Eric to check in. "Son, I have been here a while and Bonnie hasn't shown up. It doesn't take that long to fly here."

"No Dad, she is driving. You should of seen all the shit she had in that car."

Michael was not sure Bonnie was going to help and this made him even more uneasy. "Tell Drew the councilman left, and I will call again when she gets here. I might be able to sneak in and get to Melody."

"If you need us, Dad, we will be on a plane in no time."

"While I have you on the phone and it's just us, I have to tell you something." He paused for a few seconds. "Your mother wasn't visiting Melody at the concert; she moved here to live with her."

"That is her mother not mine! Like you have said, two of a kind, both bitches that don't care about the men in their lives. I don't want to know about her. I gave up on that bitch a long time ago."

"Son, she is your mother, good or bad."

"I know you love her. How are you doing seeing her after all this time?"

"I still love her. I don't know why I can't let her go, maybe it is because she kept me from ending my life a long time ago. That day when I saw him at the hotel, I had to punch him. He took her from me after 12 years. She choose him over me."

Eric could hear how sad and hurt he was. "It's not worth the pain, Dad. Forget her."

"What would you think if we get Laurie when we take your sister back? I could lock her up in the dungeons or keep her chained in the house."

Feeling how the tension was making his father sad Eric made a joke. "You can put a collar and leash on her until she learns to stay. She has been a bad wolfy."

Michael chuckled, "Son, you can shock me the way you think."

"I have thought a lot about what you said about how well known she is. I have an idea of a place to hide her and her mother when we get our hands on them. I am going to give the plan to the Alpha later."

"I will call you later, the guards are making their rounds."

"Stay safe, Dad."
